Sim Season

So i have been in plenty of leagues before, I have won championships, i have also been the worst team in the league... but I dont think I have ever seen a sim season like the one i am having or have seen anyone having a season like this.

My team is Nashville, I have played 52 games this season and sit in a playoff spot which is 8th in the west conference and 2nd in the central division 2 points behind 1st place.  Why I am explaining this is because im soooo frustrated with my team, I think my team will make the playoffs but will never get a streak going.. I have not gone on a losing streak all year, I have not gone on a winning streak all year.  I win 2 games then lose 1 game, then win, then lose 2 games, win loss, back to another win.. 2 losses, 2 wins. its sickening.. I beat really good teams and lose to bad ones. I demolish bad teams in teh scoreline and come just shy some games from beating the top teams.  I sit 16th in the BRHL standings. I think im just the middle guy in all of this.

So has anyone seen a team have a season like this. I have made trades to improve then I think i won't make the playoffs so get youth and picks, then just to trade and gun for that playoff spot again.  OH my bickering can stop now, post your thoughts please

P.S,  I was on a 2 game winning streak and i spoke to a couple gm's today and told them i will lose tonites game some how cause my team just doesn't go on a 3 game win streak.. and lone behold i lose 5-3 to carolina.

Your team was leading the Central division and was consistently Top-4 in the West until you traded away your team's top scorer to Boston for nothing of immediate help, basically cutting out the heart of this season for Nashville.

I didn't understand the trade then, and your moaning now shows it might have been against your best interests!

Shouldn't have messed with a good thing!

Yeah, the sim can be quite random at times, but usually by the end of the year most of the top teams (on paper) will be near the top of the league. But just like in the NHL things don't click with some teams for whatever reason, no matter how good they are on paper. It sucks, but I guess it's something you have to deal with if you want to be in sim leagues. Quite often what looks like the best team doesn't win.

And no offense, but after trading away Datsyuk your roster doesn't look very imposing. Looking at your team, and looking at the rest of the teams in the conference, I don't think your team should be much higher. You've got one borderline top 6 centre, and two top six wingers. A 76 OV goalie and a pretty weak defense.

As NYI said you really cut the heart out of your team by trading Datsyuk, when you were leading the division no less.

I think possibly the biggest factor, especially this season, is that teams were draftd from scratch, and by and large, teams were relatively equal therefore you wouldn't see the large discrepency amongst most teams.

Correction:
He traded the guy that the league picked for him instead of Marian Hossa because Dave had a power failure at his house.

Yep Thanks Phil..  but that is right. my first 3 round draft picks were made courtesy of the league.. i begged and begged to hold off but to no avail. so as soon as i found out i got datsyuk and that i wanted hossa and even worse is i found out i could have had hossa i was pretty much broken apart in the draft from there on out.

Broken apart from there on out? Like you were too emotionally broken and therefore your picks in rounds 4-50 suffered?
