Joe Sakic hits the shelf as team goes over cap and plays games...

Jackets played tonight game over the 39 million dollar cap, doesnt this mean sakic joins JAGR on the golf coarse for the rest of the season

"F. If a GM makes a trade that puts his team in violation of this limit the GM must work his roster through more trades, line juggling, waivers, or buyouts to get back over the floor and under the ceiling by that teams next games.

            i. Punishment for the violation of the salary cap will be the suspension of the highest paid player of that team for the remainder of the season as well as that particular player becoming an Unrestricted Free Agent during the subsequent off season; regardless of current salary and age."

Woooo hooooo.... HEEE HAWWWWW... BYE BYE SAKIC.... the central division gets a little more interesting now.. First Jagr goes bye bye from St. Louis and now Columbus makes a goof up and loses Sakic.

P.S.  mr. co commish Bryce. your team as well went over the cap by 6,500 but its still none the less over the cap.  does that mean you say goodbye to Chris Pronger.  Now i hope your team goes to shambles lol.. i have your first round pick.  This is turning out to be a great day for me to bad i can't beat Chicago still lol

peace out.

ya i would call that taunting. Someone is already pretty pissed about losing their best player. I find it very hard to think that a post like that really helps the situation. St louis losing Jagr made the league lose it's first GM. Its obviously bad for the league.

Columbus and Boston are over the cap.

Since one of them is a commish, believe me, the hard-and-fast rule will somehow not apply.

Sakic and Pronger should indeed be yanked off their respective clubs.

Unless Eric suddenly let's us know of an administrative error.

Appreciate the confidence Jay, really classy.

The reason I'm over the cap is the sim called up Jay Leach (who was on San Jose's minors) when it processed the trade with the Sharks. David Hale had already been called up to cover Fischer's injury and appropriate lines had been sent in.

Also, it wasn't put through on Friday like it should have been due to Eric not putting it through (as John confirm is when it was sent in).

I'm not sure on Columbus' situation if it was due to a sim error, so I guess we'll see on that one.

And seriously Jay, get some class or if you have no faith in us whatsoever, feel free to leave. We have plenty of people who have dealt with us for years who want into the league, I'm getting really tired of people taking cheap shots at Eric and/or myself. We put a ridiculous amount of time into the league, and you know what if I was over the cap and it was my fault not the randomness of the sim, I would gladly lose Pronger, hell I lost Lidstrom in the BRHL this season. So just grow up.

So have some of us mere g.m.s.  It matters to us! hence our concerns over rules, practices, communication and handling of operations.

Wow in no means was i meant to be taunting the two GM's what so ever.. I barely make posts, i only make them when they matter and if you look at the history of my posts i only make them when they are beneficiary to my team and thats it. I do not talk smack, I do not put down other GM's but if you think thats the way it came out to you then I apologize to both Columbus and Boston.  However my point to my post was just saying its been a good day being a Nashville Pred GM as both those mistakes benefitted me somehow thats it.

Thanks

No argument here, and you're one of teh GMs who have put a ton of time in, and have a right to have those concerns, but the insinuation that we're simply here to look out for our own behalf and change things to benefit ourselves is tacky, and really is not appreciated.

Again, I don't know what happened with Columbus and why he was over the cap, was it negligence or a sim ERROR? That will come out at which time the appropriate decision will be made.

I think the rule should be redefined as to the player that is the least expensive that puts u under the cap is who is dropped. That makes a whole lot more sense.

If you do that I think you'll see a lot of teams that perhaps don't have the same concern with going over the cap as they do now.  Typically your least expensive player that puts you over the cap is going to be one of your least important players (not always, but typically).  So if it's something important, and you really don't care if you lose that player, it might happen that you do it anyway.

I back up the Commishes sentiment. If everytime there is a situation involving the Commishes you think that your backhanded comments are going to be helpful?

I state this so all the other GMs to notice.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE IMPLICIT FAITH IN THE COMMISHES, RESIGN IMMEDIATELY OR FOREVER SHUT YOUR MOUTH WHERE THEIR ADMINISTRATION IS CONCERNED.

I have been in Bryce & Eric's leagues for years now. I have met Bryce in person and have total faith in him. (Eric is a punk but I trust him too.)

But obviously some people don't have that trust. You need to either shut it or re-sign. We don't want people like that here or need people like that here.

For **** sakes, I am sure they would refund your money just to not have to hear your bitching. (And VanIslander, this isn't totally directed at you, but for anyone that wants to continue this incessant whining.)
