I should add: such lopsided deals in a commish's favour, trying to make a Cup run in a cash league... is dangerous.

If Boston wins the championship and daysyuk is a big part of it when I'll have to quit.

Because the bad taste in my mouth will turn to *beep* when I think of a commish "winning" hundreds of our dollars partially as a result of a lopsided deal that took away the top scorer from a team that was a good contender.

Gawd this wrecks my day.

OH friggen cram it..what a bunch of babies on this board...frig, if bryce wanted to win by cheating he would have just snaked the money at the start...I do think bryce wins but there usually is a winner and a loser..Bourett is having a good year in the ahl after he put up like 140 or somethin his last year in the Q. He's no chump, as well a first is worth a lot too.

I am not sure what the guy who traded him was trying to do, but thats up to him...

btw dats is a freakin girl..i wouldnt be suprised if he took him and his purse back to russia in a few years...fact of the matter is, this trade shouldnt be vetod...

also, theats of quitting the league are childish. If you want to quit, quit..It would be foolish of you after making a good team...ciao

Some of you guys who hardly ever post need to take it easy. When a deal is posted on the Main Board it's obviously going to get seen and it's there for discussion. I'm certainly not whining, I'm just posting what I think of the deal. Maybe some of the ones complaining about allt he whining, and particularly the people who never post but complain to Bryce and Eric about the "unprofesionalism" of the boards should take a look at their contributions, which in a lot of cases are close to nil.

If it weren't for maybe 5 GMs in the league we wouldn't even need a message board.

My potentially nil point was simple; discuss on the boards if you're so inclined but reserve the vetoing theatrics for emails. The only other contribution I have is the Day 148 is bad news for someone!

You know I sit here every evening since this league has started and listened to what a lot of you say............ Well actually a few of you on a regular basis............And I am tired of it to say the least.

The fact that you guys can put up 500 replies on a board in such a short time is unbelievable and the activity is always welcomed, however the whining that goes on by the same GMs regularily is enough to make me want to puke.

For the rest of the league ignore this lot and I need not mention them since we all know who they are. They are the ones making this league unbearible. Would I like to see more activity form others including myself on the boards?  ......... Certainly, but only as long as it is constructive not destructive. This other stuff is nonsense.

You can learn more sometimes by sitting back and learning. I am on here every night but say only what is needed to be said.

If you got nothing better to do than to live in this messageboard 24 / 7 than at least stop trying to pull the league down with you all the time. Suck it up, if you do not like it then high tail it out of the league after it is all done at the end of the season.

Here is a list of the most active good or bad on this messageboard since its anaugaration:

With the exception of the commishes you can see the obvious exceptions from the top 4.

And in my opinion the people pulling the league down are the multiple GMs who don't know jack about hockey and have made a habit of getting ripped off

I nearly have my own heart attacks when I check the Transactions page every day and see some of the trades that are made in this league.

i agree some people on hear post meaningless things sometimes i do when bored but not to often,, people who are the most interested and are posting the most obviously dont like lopsided deals because many of them have strong teams (cept buffalo he just must be really board) and when another team lands a top guy it hurts their teams contention chances and they post alot so they obviously will complain more than the rest (bad thing) simply because of their insane commitment and interest in league (a good thing)... so i say take the good with the bad..

i also have a theory in the mattter that any commish of any league in leagues with guys from the league they commish, like say if rex were in a league with say matt as the commish (have no idea if this is true), i find people hold the commishs opinion and value his thoughts more than an average g.m.. many g.m's when dealing with a guy they have as a commmish in the current league or in previous leagues seem to think that all the guys on the commishs team must be good or why would a commish have him sorta thing.. kinda like what happens with teams trading with sather in the 80's and early 90's and jerry west in basketball, u see it all the time..

how else can a team trade a guy like datsyuk pronger, to a guy without asking for at leeast kronwall tallinder olesz lupul pitkanen greene in some kinda package,  the commishs top youth in return for top players. like what bryce gave up for hossa when two for sure young star players left in michalek and wolski... instead asking for unproven nhl prospects, or guys like poti, tjarnvist guys who are eating minutes on teams but have shown that their careers arent going to prosper an a backup goalie. not saying either Nashville or NYI have done anything wrong they paid ttheir money to trade whom they want when they want too..  not saying bryce is cheating or anything hear i just think other g.ms over value the guys he has because hes a "commmish" of a fantasy hockey league and his guys must be good.....

on a side note who cares what kinda stats people put up in the Q its almost as physical as ringette no way you can compare that to what a guy will do in the league

no im jus saying any close deal should be a league vote so people dont bitch

All the more reason to never veto any trade unless there's clear evidence of cheating. And this type of thing is certainly one of the reasons. Every trade is going to be subjectively viewed different by every GM. I don't see this being even close to such a horribly lopsided deal that some others are making it out to be. Datsyuk, unless he turns it around hugely in the NHL, is headed for a pretty decent rerate downward. Hell, even if he doesn't, so what. it's not like Nashville got a bag of pucks for him.

And most imporantatly... regardless of what anybody may try to say... every team wants to get the best deal possible that they can in any deal that they make. If a GM makes a boneheaded trade, and lives to regret it, it's his fault, and suck it up and live with it. It should be nobody's job to interfere and protect him. If he has any doubts, take more time too look it over, get some advice from someone else if you want, say no, do any number of things. Nobody's forced to make any deals.

yeh true never thought of the gang up approach that could be taken on a league vote on shaky deals.. thanx phillipe

I just want to say that I am on here often and I do post a lot and when there is a debate I will voice my opinion. However, look at my posts and you will never see me start a thread to complain about a rule or something else. If I have a problem with something, with a trade I want to be vetoed or anything else I will PM Bryce or Eric and I'll talk to them.
I do post useless stuff on here because I have some time to waste and I am commited to this league but it's all in good fun.
My point is if you want to complain about something bring it up to Eric or Bryce, if you want to discuss something and voice your opinion in a non offensive way then post it on here.

To set part of the record straight here...

The message board is here for everyone to use, as much or as feasibly little. People can rack up posts, by just talking. I'm fine with that, you guys might have some free time, and came here to check whats going on, and you're trying to be social and possibly spark a conversation with another GM.

What I don't really get is why people value a number of posts? Not pointing the finger at anyone inparticular, But GMs with a lot or a small amount of posts use it as a point against other GMs. Let's get past that, it's just a number. It doesn't mean much. It doesn't mean much in Bryce or My eyes.

We're trying to keep the bickering to a minimum here. People are getting annoyed with it. No one enjoys it. Please be respectful.

Please also stop with the trade veto suggestions. It's annoying. There will be winners / losers of deals. It happens. Please act like an adult and come to Bryce or I with your concerns. It's why we're here.

Normally I ignore threads like this, but after hearing that Bryce's character was coming into question I had to respond, I have known Bryce for a few years now through the BRHL and another league or two, and he is the one GM/Commish I would never question the integrity of!!!
