Haha, Im a little bit sick of Edmonton to be honest. But I guess Im a flames fan, this is after all a better story than your rip off "ugly coat" based off of the flames hard hat. Like who cares about stories like that other than the local city?
Anyways, I hope they boo him pretty bad, I dont like Pronger, didnt like him as an Oiler, loved how he left cause it made me laugh at the Oilers, but the guy is so annoying. Also, is it just me or are Chris Pronger's jokes in interviews the worst in the league? Soooooo bad. Hes like a nerd in an athletes body.
the attitude in edmonton over this is petty and childish even disrespectful
Pronger played his heart out for the team and there's no damn way the oilers get anywhere near the Stanley Cup finals if it wasn't for him, and then he left NOT due to wanting to leave but due to pressures in his personal life.
He should be applauded when he returned, not booed.

You've got to understand though that big name players have been leaving Edmonton for more money south of the border for a long time. So it's really not all about Pronger. With the new CBA it looked like Edmonton could finally get and keep a big name guy (Pronger) and what happens, he asks for a trade.
He's a professional athlete, his job is to play his heart out. And for 5 million + a year he damn well should.
Pronger is a little bitch and should have just sucked it up. What was the big deal, his wife didn't like living in Edmonton? Tough ****.

No kidding. What? She couldn't figure that out before they commited to playing and moving there for a few years? When you sign a contract at a new job don't you check the city out first?
I assume from the posts that you haven't heard the "rumors" floating around as to why she wanted to leave so bad....All I'll say is keep your Prong'er in your pants
It was actually ALOT more tame than I thought it would be last night....Couple hilarious signs "Chris, why haven't you called?", Pronger Jerseys with instead of PRONGER had the onger covered with EGNANT.
Why ONE guy didn't want to play here, and apparently it was the wife who didn't want him to "play" here. Then you have guys like Staios who sign longterm for way less than he could have gotten on the open market because "Sometimes you take less to play in a place you love."
He kept his Prong'er in his pants and the wife didn't make him move.

So people make up rumours and then you use it as fact?
I never said anything was fact...He left for undisclosed personal reasons, But it was a well known fact that his wife did not like the city and had left to go back to St. Louis before the playoffs even started....People will draw there own conclusions to that..
Personally I could care less why he left, you sign a 5 year deal and leave demand a trade, people will be pissed. As someone who forked over my money in large part to watch Pronger, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Under the old system Edmonton saw so many good players leave because of money reasons many people refused to fall in love with a star player knowing they'd leave eventually. Then the cap comes in and we trade for the best defenseman in the NHL, he signs a 5 year deal here and people bought into Chris Pronger. Jerseys, shirts everything flew off the shelf, after one year he leaves town (for whatever reason) and people are understandably hostile. When you chicken **** out and release a statement through your agent while you're off in Mexico it really pisses people off in a blue-collar town like Edmonton.
Man I'd love to have him on my BRHL2 team....oh right I do

I still think people are wayyyyyyyyyyy overreacting especially considering the return you got for him.
