Lines Rule

Furthermore, a team cannot double shift any more than one forward

The following teams ar ecurrently in violation of the rule:
Boston, Detroit, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Toronto, Washington.

I don't know how long these rules have been broken but it's a huge advantage and some of these need to be dealt with IMEEDIATELY or those teams should be fined.

Ya really, this sucks, why in the hell do you have to cheat?

Look at this for Edmonton:  4  Jason Arnott          Ilya Kovalchuk        Maxim Afinogenov

It's a whole other 1st line while I'm playing my grinders

If it's too much work to check every night I would be happy to go over the lines for each team.

I'd like to use this reason to explain my Rangers poor standings.   I fully play 4 lines of offense and its killed me all season when I play teams rolling the big guns on back to back shifts.  Can something please be done with this.  Thanks from the Rangers and the rest of the little guys in the league.   -Joe  NYRGM

Yeah this rule has got to be enforced, I mean I would LOVE to double shift Staal and Bertuzzi every night to get more scoring, but its cheating.

the rule is enforced, anytime it happens the lines get auto'd.. the reason is probably didn't happen with EDM was he sent his lines last night.

btw, repeat offenders are being fined each time new lines are sent with an illegal double shift.

Thanks but is it possible that auto lines are doubleshifting 2 forwards cuz there are 6 teams there?

Well there are currently six teams doubleshifting more than one player on the lines page, so I would say it's probably not being enforced. It's a hard thing to check for every single night, and i'm sure some are missed. Some teams only have 3 of a particular forward position on their roster, so autoing the lines isn't going to do anything. In that case you have to bring a player up from the farm. Rather than doing that it's probably better to enforce strict fines until the situation is resolved.

All 6 of those teams might have just sent in lines over the past two days though, so maybe the rule is being enforced.

As I said I think it is being enforced but autoing their lines just dobleshifts players in many cases.

I have been following this closely as I write up reviews of the games and I have brought several violations to Eric's attention since the season began.

It has happened less often than you find now.

And Rangers-Joe, it does NOT explain ANY of your team losses. Not a single one.

Your team has not lost a game against ANY of the violators: Boston, Detroit, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Toronto, Washington. Nor against the two violators I've caught before Anaheim, St. Louis. NONE. Not a single game against any violator, and I've been following it.

The Rangers have been beaten twice by my Isles (1-4, 1-2), three times by the Devils (4-5, 2-4, 0-5), twice by the Wild (0-3, 1-4), twice by the Stars (3-5, 4-5), once by the league-leading Panthers (1-4), Lightning (3-4) and Canadiens (1-4).

That's been one of the toughest schedules, as 7 of the losses have come against Top-10 teams, and beside divisional rival Isles and Devils, EVERY loss has come at the hands of teams at or above .500 record. There have been only three games I thought the Rangers should have won but didn't: 2-4 to the Flyers (due to hot Toskala and Naslund in on two goals early); 2-4 to the Flames (two pp goals late, chemistry with Murray & Tanguay has burned several teams); 1-3 to the Avalanche (Morrow outshot everybody, hit and was in on every Avs goal - has had several remarkable games).

The Rangers will have plenty of opportunities as their schedule gets easier to play the Sabres, Sharks, Canucks and Thrashers and the like at the bottom of the standings. In the meantime, think about getting a second line centre with more offensive skill than the 62 passing Holik; perhaps move Bates to wing and Stumpel to centre to stimulate some secondary scoring; behind underachieving Hossa (12 pts in 22 games) it'd be helpful to have more than three players who can score at all (low 70s); Auld is at best average this season in terms of rating (77 ov) and rookie backup Labarbera has lost both starts he's had because he is a minor league at best right now (69 ov).

HOLY CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that was the best post ever!!!!!!!!!!!!   I really appreciate everything you said there Isles and I dont take offense to it at all.  I've been consciously trying to play my backup goaltenders early which would explain some of my losses because of the backup goalie rule to play at lealst 15 games I believe.  The only bummer is that I played Peter Budaj some games and then traded him so I loose out on some of those games now.  And yes Auld is Avg at best now but what can I do?????  Hossa is majorly underachieving yes....... and Holik is definately not a legit #2 center.    I'm trying  boys I really am, I've made a bunch of deals and I'm not done yet by any means. I'm trying to find the fight combos and chemistry.   More to come-Joe NYRGM

I have started to do the lines for the Bruins club as of today and will make sure to follow this rule.

On a side note if anyone is worried about the Bruins double shifting and feeling that it cost them a victory has more issues than the Bruins double shifting guys!

But anyway as of today it will not happen again.

Toronto and LA still double double shifting after a quick glance at the lines page
