POTM Formula

Needs to be tweaked. This is after all a category for money. If it's not changed we're going to have a goalie win it every month, and likely a goalie that hasn't played very many games.

I don't think the formula has to be changed, but agree that the minimum games should be upped. A goalie shouldn't get it if he's playing half of the games, regardless of how good he's done.

I agree with Matt, goalies will win it all the time.

Ya upping the games played may work, I suggest having a minimum games played around 10 instead of the 6 we have it set for now.

The BRHL2 Lab Scientists are looking to see if they can pound out a similar yet better formula.

What's the problem with the Formula though? The formula itself seems to work just fine, it's just a matter of minimum games played. Look at month 1. Yes a goalie won it, but only because of the low games played. Otherwise there's not even a goalie on the list otherwise. Sure in month two right now it's dominated by goalies, but only because of the few games played and the winning record. Over a month's time (as we saw in month 1), it doesn't stay that way, and if a goalie CAN keep it up playing more games, then he deserves it too...

Agreed actually. The formula looks fine, as seen in month 1, just bump up the games played requirement.

Not that I'm complaining cause Sakic is 2nd in the POTM race this month, but it looks like the formula has been adjusted, and pretty badly. There isn't even a goalie on the leaderboard. I think Florida had it right on that the games played mark just needed to be upped a bit. Right now it doesn't look very good. I suggest (after this month) or whenever it is appropriate putting the old formula back and upping the games played mark to 10 or 12 or so. Because obviously the formula we have right now is drastically unfair to goalies.

Yeah I think it's th eminimum win percentage of 0.750 that takes all goalies off the board. Winning 12 games out of 16 in a month won't happen very often.

I'm still working on trying to find the right percentages.
