Yes but who is to say he wouldnt have resigned Straka? And honestly if i didnt give you the Ok to go for him would have you backed off and said no.....Of course not and you shouldnt you want to make your team better then you have every right. Just dont come on here and act like you are a saint, and when i threw in a pick a prospect and 2.5 million it still got shot down. If all we can do in this league is make fair deals then dont bother asking Vancouver for deals anymore he aint listening. Thats the last thing Ill write on this topic.

It seems the issue here is th einitial deal being vetoed and I thought that was done with. I've said what I think so if you want to know more go ask the other 6 BOD members.

It won't let me post my entire post so:

BOD should be elected by the GMs, not appointed by the commissioner

You have to have some control over trades, to guard the health of the league

Don't outright reverse trades, add to them to make them passable...you make a bad deal, too bad, but we're going to give you some extra pieces to make sure your team isn't screwed over for the next GM.

I'm certainly not accusing the Lightning of any unfair play. But I for one had no idea that the trade had been negated. I had originally sent an offer to the Kings which I never heard back from, but certainly would have been interested in trying again had I known he was re-available. I had spoken with the Canucks about acquring Bergeron (when he owned him) just the other day, and he said that Bergeron wasn't available. So I had given up on it. Really the point here is not Bergeron.... yes there are 100 other centres that I could pick up, but i think it's a similar situation to me commishing a league and hiring a new GM and making some deals with him before announcing the hiring of the new GM.

Again, not pointing fingers at anyone here, just not a big fan of how it was all handled.

All points are understood and appreciated, please hold all comments until we can contact the LA GM and address the situation with him. In the meantime, Bergeron will remain on the Kings until we are able to contact LA.

It's the league's first year so I for one am not so up and arms about this situation. But I think we need to revise the rules or at least make them clearer on the vetoing of trades as well as the actions taken by the BOD. There needs to be better communication between the commishes and the GMs, as in this case I'm not sure everyone even knows what happened.

Let's look at this situation thoughtfully and shore things up so we can prevent it from happening again.

I agree with Jamie in Minnesota, if there are not more league wide votes, not votes done by hand picked appointed boards then i don't see a bright future for this league.   Everyone should have an equal say on important matters like these.  Even the fact that we don't have a vote to determine whether we should have league wide votes kind of pisses me off.

It's gonna be super hard to find replacement GM's when GM's who feel they aren't being listened to walk.  Other than that, I do find the league quite enjoyable. :)
