In need of Defensemen?

After just claiming Desjardins on waivers (I'm assuming it went through), the Jackets have a big logjam on the blueline. I'm looking to move a blueliner or two, either for a prospect, a 3rd line forward, or to upgrade at another position. All of my dmen except for Zubov could be had.

Rafalski, Salei, Mitchell, Carney and Desjardins could all be available. I am definitely willing to take UFAs in return.

Get in touch via email or icq and I will be sure to reply.

You can't claim Desjardins until you have the cap room and you don't have the cap room at the moment! so hurry up!

and Desjardins isn't even on the waiver wire.

I asked Eric and he said that yes I could claim him, I just have to be under the cap by my next game or I face the cap penalty.

And ya, he is on Waivers, as per what we were just talking about in another thread in the last few days. The 24 hour period ended today at 7PM. He's mine, according to Eric

The waiver rules clearly state waivers are 48 hours, not 24 hours.

I asked Eric yesterday and he told me that it was 24 hours. And claiming a guy after I told you that he was on Waivers is really lame .

Once a player is on waivers every team will have 48 hours to claim him, if he is not claimed he will be on your farm roster.

With all due respect to Eric, if he wants the rules to change to 24 hours, that's fine, change it and let the league know and from tomorrow on that can be it, but the rules are black and white as they stand right now that every team has 48 hours. There's no way it misinterpret it, and I would have a big problem if he wanted to do something other than what's stated there. What's the point in having rules otherwise. And if it was meant to be in the rules that it's 24 hours, then again, fine, tell us and change it, but the rules need to be followed as they exist now.

And no, claiming a guy off waivers after you told me isn't lame, it's foolish of you to do so. It's a cash league where I do what's best for my team.

Also, I have an issue with why Desjardin's isn't listed on the "waiver list" and on the transactions page it even simply says that he's demoted to the farm. If he's on waivers, it should say "Desjardin's is placed on waivers" (as it can because I see it in another league I'm in all the time). People are going to go up and down to the farm all year, we shouldn't need to look them up to see if they qualify for waivers or not, it should automatically be in there.

I fully agree.  If there is going to be a waiver system, there needs to be an actual system.  Use the waivers page, thats what it is for.

I hate to get involved in a discussion like this, but the reason that there is an issue is that a certain OV player regardless of age is on waivers, but you can't designate the waivers page to show them in the sim.

For example, although he wasn't, just say for a minute Komiserak was sent to the minors. The sim won't recognize he is on waivers because he is there because of the BRHL2 rule only.

Also, there is supposed to be a certain number of games played before waivers takes effect, but I don't know what it is set at.

Then simply have a waivers forum that players waived are posted to.

It's done in many leagues, why not this one. Takes seconds and is efficient and informative.

Don't tell me, tell Eric.  I was just informing Florida of the sim being incapable of doing what he is saying.
