I didn't say anything when I first saw them in the farm, but they have now been there for a few games.
As per the rulebook
B. No skater with an overall rating of seventy (70) nor any goaltender with an overall rating of seventy-three (73) or higher can be sent to the minors. Otherwise they will be subject to waivers regardless of rookie status or age. If the player clears waivers he will be placed back on the owning team’s pro roster and be subject to the team’s overall salary cap. (For salary cap guidelines see part X)
So shouldn't those two at least now be placed on Waivers? If St.Louis is forced to lose Jagr, IMO Demitra and Amonte should be subject to Waivers.
Also, as per the rulebook
XIV. Waivers
A. Players may play less than 10 games and be sent up and down without penalty. When a player who is 24 or older plays 10 games in BRHL, he must clear waivers before being sent down. A player ALWAYS receives 10% of his salary on the farm, regardless of games played.
At the very least there needs to be some clarification on this issue. Can you indeed send ANY player to the farm (even one who is a 70OV+) player, as long as they have not played 10 games in the BRHL? If so, there is really no fine for having a player who is 70+OV in the farm, you just have to have him in the farm before he's played 10 BRHL games.

Just so you all know, I had put them on the main squad and sent in my lines but for some reason they were never put on the main squad. Unfortunately, I did not realize this after the first game but noticed immediately after the second. New lines have been sent in again and I am hoping it takes this time around.

Ya I thought it was probably a lines problem, anyways, hopefully we can get some clarification on the rule from Eric when he gets around to this thread.

While it may be a technicality, as long as they actually START the season on the farm, the rules, as written, don't force them to be on waivers. Or at least, that's how I would argue it anyway... The players STARTED the season on the farm, they haven't been SENT there. Now I'm sure that the intent of the rule is not to have them on the farm period, but... as written, the players haven't been sent to the farm, they started there.
Rod and I had a problem with the files. I even manually put Demitra and Amonte on the pros and I guess when I auto loaded the lines. Its been fixed now, and I'm doing my best to catch future instances.

Okay we really really need some clarification on this issue, as the league rulebook does not make it clear.
Mike Komisarek was sent to the minors today.
The rules that I posted above contradict each other. On the one hand, no team can have a player of 70OV or higher in the minors at any time. On the other hand, "Players may play less than 10 games and be sent up and down without penalty. When a player who is 24 or older plays 10 games in BRHL, he must clear waivers before being sent down."
So accordingly, I could send 84OV Ovechkin to the farm, because he is 24 or younger.
So the problem seems to be that there is no penalty outlined for having a player who is 70OV or higher in the farm, as that player is not always subject to waivers. This really need to be cleared up.

That should not be allowed. He is 70 OV. And the commishes made clear that NO players rated 70 or higher can be on the farm.
The guys who play more than 10 days and need to clear waivers are the 69 and under OV !!
I talked to Eric and he said it was a discrepancy with Edmonton's lines. He has also told met hat ANY 70OV players sent to the farm are on waivers, regardless of games played or age. He also told me that it is a GM's responsibility to put in a waiver claim when a player who is 70OV or higher is sent to the farm. You can see every day's transactions by checking the Transactions page.
Chicago just claimed Dempsey. I wasn't aware that he was even on Waivers, and I've been told that there will be no announcement when a player is waived, but that GMs are to watch the transaction page for 70OVs and higher to be sent down.

This is the way it should be. We have to be responsible for watching the waiver board everyday or lose possible potential that someone is trying to slip thru.
