Preds preseason review

Well the preseason finished on a sad note for the Nashville Predators.  They lost a high scoring affair by the score of 8-6.  Their final record was 2-4-2 in the preseason.  There is a sort of a need to be worried as this record placed them in 10th place in the conference.  However there were some bright notes to pass along.  Besides the last game the most impressive part was that 5 Nashville Preds were in the top 10 in the plus minus category and 3 of them happened to be defencemen.  Thats a pleasant surprise considering the team wasn't really built on defence.  Other notables were the first line seems to be clicking on all cylinders.  The line of Hartnell Datysuk and Doan will be be fun to watch throughout the season.  Sources say... they have been given the nickname of the P-hd line... don't know what thats all about...  are they doctors or hockey players...  After reviewing the division the Preds currently are in.. they must feel they have something out to prove... Considering two of the teams are in rebuilding mode. the Preds are looking for a 2nd place finish in the division as a goal and GM Barbosa will work hard at acheiving that goal.  As for conference standings.. look for the Preds to probably finish at about 7th or 8th seed at best since the conference is looking to be very competitive.

Well the team can't wait till game 1 of the NHL season but in the meantime it is also known that players were taking the rookies out to a niteclub on sunday after the game for a little show n tell... word has it that slater and ouellet were really wasted and performing well lets just say.. tasks of the unorthodox........   oh how they must hate being a rookie right now.. look for more rookie initiation nites throughout the season.
