The Ducks started the pre-season on the right foot with a 5-4 Win over the Dallas Stars with 9 Ducks players getting on the score sheet with either a goal or assist especially forward Jonathan Cheechoo who had 2 goals and 1 assist in the contest. The following night the Ducks went into Phoenix knowing they were going to face a tough opponent with some good scoring and a goaltender like Martin Brodeur but the Ducks escaped the desert with with a 5-5 tie, this night 10 players getting on the score sheet with Cheechoo leading the way again with 2 goals, Petr Prucha with 2 assists, Alexei Yashin had 1 goal and 1 assist. Then the following night Phoenix came in to California but on this night they would walk out of the arena with their tail between their legs suffering a 4-2 loss to the Mighty Ducks but leading the way for the ducks on this night were two unlikely sources as Curtis Brown and Mike Comrie each contributed with 2 points a piece, but for the 3rd straight game Jonathan Cheechoo got on the board again with a goal. The Ducks finally got a night off and the following night went into LA but couldnt squeeze out a win as they got beat 3-2, LA scoring 3 unanswered goals in 2nd period to give the kings the win, for a 4th straight game Cheechoo scored a goal, after 4 pre-season games Cheechoo has 6 goals and 1 assist. The Ducks look to keep their Pre-season record in good standing when LA visits tomorrow and the Ducks looking to get some revenge after a loss are hoping if they can stay out of the box they can pull out a win a home.
