There's also potentially reasons why someone CAN'T respond to an e-mail immediately. Their connection is down for a couple of days... their computer went shot and it's getting repaired... not everyone has a computer or internet connection at work to make a post on the board saying they won't have access to the internet for a while. Someone may have gotten hurt and are in the hospital for a few days... or there might be a family emergency where they aren't at home for a couple days (I know if I had something like that come up, the league wouldn't exactly be very high on my list of people to notify)...
They may be spending every spare second outside in the beautiful, fleeting summer air.
I think we need to decide on a way which to communicate with each other. If any one has ever or ever does send me an icq message, I'll never see it, but on the other hand, if it's an e-mail or pm on the message board I'll probably get it that day. I know everyone has there own thing that they prefer, but maybe its time we choose one or two different ways of communicating.
Also if you really want someone to respond, send your message to all the contacts you have for that person. I'm sure they'll see one with in a few days.
maybe it's just me, but if you really want a response, why would you do anything but send an e-mail? ICQ's great if you're online and want to chat and make a deal live, but many don't use it daily (or ever as it seems for others). Private Messaging? Especially now when we have just under a week before the pre-season starts, I'm sure that there's gonna be many who don't use the board daily.
I would always say that if you want to ensure your message is going to be seen, to send an e-mail.
As well the majority of us are Canadians and we have what 2 weeks left of summer??? Late August early September are always dead times in FHL.....
We will be setting up a weekly "chat night" that isn't mandatory, but that GMs can meet at go ovber whats happening, who's available......make fun of kirks team etc.....
