NHL CBA Related

1. The league is based on the NHL CBA. We should have a specific CBA board and some sort of interpretation contingency for cases that involve disputes.(And I bet there will be some...)

2. First CBA related question as per the sim. In a cap situation a replacement player called in due to injury counts against the cap only if the player that is injured is out for less than 24 days or 10 games.

The way the sim heals players is uncertain, so how will we know if the injury replacment and the injured player both count against the cap or just the injured player?

As stated before, we need to budget for 23-24 salaries on the pro roster.

Injuries and suspensions happen a lot in the NHL and in FHL.

Bench players and call-ups from the farm of course count against the cap, and many FHL leagues leave it at that.

The BRHL2 has an additional feature: INJURY RESERVE. The IR allows us to put a player on it and avoid having to pay his salary for a week, a month or for the remainder of the entire season/postseason. It's in the rules and pretty clear. No need for a 24 day, 10-game kind of extra rule. Simply put a player on IR for a month. Injuries are estimated by the sim but of course the length of actual injury time can vary since the healing process isn't entirely predictable. That's life. After we have put a guy on IR for a month, we can put him on an extra week if need be, or an extra month.

And as for interpretation of the rules, the commishes will decide, and there's a Board of Directors with a member from each division.
