WELCOME TO THE BRHL2

As you can see GM spots are filling up quickly although until cash payment has ben received nothing is finalized.

For a quick background on the BRHL2, I started running the BRHL www.thebrhl.com in May of 2001. We currently finished up our 6th season, and it continues to be an elite league in the FHL community with minimal turnover.

During a stretch Eric did the simming in the league much as he does here and I will help him out as the administrator. Which is the same role I have had in the BRHl for the past 6 seasons. My life doesn't allow me the time to sim regularily, but I am always available on the boards or email.

We wanted to start a cash league that elite GMs would be able to join and ply there trade while seeing some sort of reward for it. With that in mind we also know there will be weaker teams so we've come up with alternative ways to win some cash.

We will hold teh funds in a paypal account, so we will probably post a record of the account monthly just to show the funds are still there etc...... We will not be getting rich off this, hell it will barely pay for the website what we take out (4%) but it will provide some of the best GMs on teh internet a new way to ply there trade and an added sense of pride when winning.

We will hold a coaches draft prior to drafting players so that coaches are in place. Also teams will be able to select their drfat position. Once all GM spots are filled and cash has been received. We will allow GMs to submit what position they would like to pick in the draft. If they are the only one to select a slot, they will get to pick there. If multiple GMs select the same spot, a GM will be selected at random and the other GMs will be able to submit a list with their prefered slot of the positions left. The coaches draft will run from 30-1 while the original draft will run in a snake draft.

We have spent 3 months making sure we had everything covered, however if something has slipped our attention or needs clarifying please let us know. We will begin teh draft once all franchise fees are paid and we have sorted out any issues that come up. Teams will be able to trade picks throughout the draft.

If you have any questions or concerns please ask, this league will bring a whole new dynamic to the FHL world and will add to the strength of the Best Ran Hockey League franchises.

Hey guys, this is Aaron, one of the two co-owners of the Buffalo Sabres for BRHL2, and im just wondering something about the draft. How many players are we going to draft? I assume we will have 26 "roster" players as it says 5 of each forward pos, 8 d and 3 goalies that are all rated. But after that how many more slots do we have for prospects, depth and any other kind of players?

Also how is the draft going to be performed? I assume its going to be done over several months since its almost impossible to get everyone online for a lengthy draft like this?

Anyplayer who available is available in any round. You could build for the future and try for Crosby, Ryan and Johnson (all players drafted in the 2005 Entry Draft) as some of your first picks. It's not reccommended to go for all prospects, but the ability to draft any player in any round adds a degree of strategy.

Roughly we're shooting for a 50 Round Draft. We're gonna try our best to get it over with as quickly as possible, but at the same time make sure it is done right. So we'd figure a 20-23 man pro roster, X man farm roster, and the rest would be prospects.

The Draft will mainly be held via e-mailing lists. But there could be a slight chance of doing a few rounds Live. Bryce and I are gauging when Live drafts will/would happen so we'll keep you informed on that issue. We'll aslo try to get 2 rounds done per night, to make sure this drafting process doesn't become monotonous .

Just a few things:

#1- You commishes should be hounding the GMs who are currently holding a GM spot and haven't paid, simply because we cant get started until everyone has paid, and secondly because we all want to get started as soon as possible.

#2- Assuming we do 2 rounds per day, I assume we will start out doing a 60-man draft list (if Im the #1 pick, or 31-man list if Im #30 pick) every day off the start. My only concern is after the first 10-20 rounds could we then move it to every other day doing 2 rounds... Obviously it's easier to do the first few rounds because the players we are drafting are well known, we're biased, etc. but the later rounds a list is a little harder because to me the difference between 4th liners is kinda small, so our lists will have to be looked at closer.

as long as we do it AFTER the first 15-20 rounds, I'm all for it

a good pace is nice, but let's not rush it. drafting is important

Agreed on the first point, although I haven't paid yet (will be doing so tomorrow). Maybe set an absolute drop dead date by which payment has to be received or the GM is booted from the league. I imagine a few guys won't get their money in, and it would be great to have 30 GMs, but even if we went with 26 who have all paid, so as not to hold the draft up, I think a league with 26 teams might work just fine.
