"This isn't a democracy" statement, that longtimers have heard repeatedly.

It may not be a popular stance, but yes, we are a bit "communist" in running a league, any good, longterm league is. You can't have GM perception sway you on many issues. I tell others all the time, whether hockey or OOTP leagues, that you can't run a system where everyone is happy, so you do what is best for the league, popular or not.

THAT BEING SAID

Eric and I are discussing work arounds, because I absolutely do believe the portal needs more functuality, if we can get that, while working without an OV (because it is long documented, we both are fundamentally opposed to that), then all the better.

And the manner in which this was brought up, was honestly, perfect; we appreciate your concerns, and ideas, we do discuss them, and debate them.

Believe this or not....I am not opposed to the OV being removed from the portal but I am opposed to it being removed if the portal has no functionality because of it's removal. Yes Bryce, I also agree that the league has to operate within set guidelines and those guidelines are not going to make everyone happy all the time but what is being discussed has no league impact. We are not debating policy or rule changes, merely portal appearance and we are not talking about a few unhappy people either. This is a 80% disagreement with this decision in a league that people are paying money to be a part of. I would "prefer" to have the OV added to the portal but am more than willing to go along with the masses if they "prefer" not to have them. Bottom line is I don't understand the league stance on the subject when it has no operational significance. To me this is no different then deciding you don't like Matt Duchene so you won't add a picture of him on the site!

Reading some of the comments here, and helping run another long time FHL league I needed to interjet here. As commishes yes we all have the authority to really do what we want, however, at some point as commishes we also have a responsibility to listen to your membership. This is about utilizing the full functionality of the site, it makes it very difficult to use many of the features of the site without having the ov shown... I really don't see the big deal of allowing it to show as all experienced GM's know that OV is not a good indictator of whether a deal is fair or a rating is correct. I can understand from the commishes view not wanting it to be seen as then you have arguements of why is my guy not rated higher than the other guy but really those are really easy to weed out real quick with a response back to that GM stating OV don't mean jack s**t. The change will not ruin the intergrity of the league so I really do not understand why you would choose to still use the portal if you are not going to use the full functionality of the site or support the request fo the league if this decision is not determental to the league. Again I am a mushroom here and you guys are the bosses but if you look at the reasoning on why GM's are asking for the change I hope you reconsider...

The server move has been completed, you guys can now log into your team pages and check things out.

The Portal has now been upgraded to Version 3.3, couple that with the new server you should now be able to experience the full capabilities of the Web Portal.

Yeah, the depth chart doesn't seem to we working again. Also, I have Jim O'Brien on my roster and my prospect list. And, for some reason, TJ Brodie is on my prospect list when he should be on my roster.
