While I agree with the reasoning and understand why both Eric and Bryce don't like having the OV stat in the ratings, I think that they should go back to the "invisible" OV method they were using.

When they did away with OV entirely, it pretty much made the depth chart function on the website utterly useless and even made the roster page a bit of a mess to look at.

My argument for 'turning' that function back on is that it makes it easier to do lines as a GM as you can actually see who your top players are with respect to the Sim. As well, when conducting trades discussions, you don't have to weed through all of the chaff of crappy farm fillers to actually see what players a particular team actually has on the depth chart or even the roster pages.

And the fear of people still using the player rankings is baseless - just because player A is ranked as the top player on team A, it doesn't mean that they'll be the top ranked player on Team B.

I myself have made trades in the past for a players where they happened to be "ranked" on their team fairly well, but as soon as they got moved onto my roster, they were "ranked" in the bottom half of my squad. It didn't matter because I traded for certain attributes that the player had that my team lacked. All the 'ranking' did was allow me to see what the heck I was getting more clearly.

I know a few others share my opinion as well so let's see how many of us out there feel the same and maybe we can persuade them to give us this functionality back... we are paying for this experience after all!

For whatever reason, the portal has pretty much been a disaster here, it's a complete mess. The depth chart feature is what I like most about the portal but I don't even use it here cause it doesn't even list the players properly. I pretty much just use the portal to send in lines and use the index for everything else. It's a waste of the portal in my opinion.

I'm in another league where we show OV but as we all know it means nothing. Its a reference only. I much prefer accurate depth charts with players, prospects and picks etc.

If we can have accurate depth charts, etc without having the OV rating on, that would be my vote.... but if we need it on to get the depth charts and other things working properly on the site, then Im all for it!

I'm sorry if I'm crushing any dreams here, but this one of the few things Bryce and I agree so much on. OV has no point in this league.

Well, if that's the case, we might as well just scrap the portal all together since it's totally useless. I suppose all it's good for is probably sending in lines and submitting trades. And, I guess what pisses me off the most is that we waited for so long last season to get the portal up and running, leading to such a ****ty season, just to not benefit of having a portal that works and not using it to it's full potential. What a waste furious

I'd tend to agree... Scrap the portal and just use the basic league index page and go back to emailing in the lines if that's the case. What's the point of having a 'pretty' portal when it doesn't have any practical functionality?

You have more than 80% of the GMs that have responded to the poll saying that they want a usable portal... I'm thinking this is something that we all want.

Not particularly well considering that it can't differentiate between roster players and farm players.

So let me get this straight... Even though we can't see the OV ratings, which isn't what anyone here is asking for, you guys have issues with how the sim 'organizes' the players on each team? Really?

With the OV hidden the portal will not allow the depth chart to work like it had before. The updated versions of the sim and the portal don't work like they used to and what we have is what we have.

OK, just a tad curious as to when we all moved into a communist environment? You have 80% of a cash league vote for something that they are spending their money on and part of the 20% minority decides against it because he doesn't like it so the 80% majority just eat it? If you buy a car do you have to pick a color the salesman likes or do you get to pick your own? The OV rating has no significance whatsoever, does not enter into trading, nor has any ill effects or benefits to having it.......so wtf is the big deal with adding it if the majority of the league wants it? I don't understand :/
