As a Predators GM.. all i have to say is... WHAT A CRAPPY CONFERENCE im going to be in now...
Our conference BRHL style will be shall i say the most difficult of any conference.
we welcome kirk's jets to our conference the central stays together and minnesota and dallas get added as well.. Should be very interesting and now i have to shift to thinking about next seasons team much more than this season considering this division will be goalie heavy with the likes of .. thomas. miller. crawford. fluery. and an aging broduer.
what sucks even more. is with 8 teams.. it means half the teams will not make the playoffs along with conference A. YUK!!!!
So happy the NHL finally took some steps to address Western teams concerns about sharing the travel burden and all fans concerns about not Seing Sid, OV8, and EVERY team EVERY year...

this is an aweful day.. the nhl did not solve anything but created more problems. especially to the western conference. the west always gets the shaft now there are 2 conference where you only have a 50 percent chance of qualifying for playoffs. where as in the east you have a 57 percent chance... the phoenix situation is up in the air im sure they are moving in the next 2 years.. and another point.. how about us canadians.. it will make it much more harder now for a canadian team to make the finals. cause the first 2 rounds you have to make it out of your conference, then reseeding is made.
i think this will definately hurt the game in the long run..
The East/West thing isnt gonna be an issue when Phoenix is gone somewhere else by year end..
Exactly. They already know they are going to Quebec City. And this just clears the way for expansion into GTA and then possibly KC/Seattle/Portland/Vegas and you will have four, 8 team conferences.
