My biggest problem with the rule is it allows guys like Grier and Malhotra to sit in the minors, they have 80 df ratings and would be a benefit to any team in the league. Could we add a rule that says any player (or just veteran player) with a significant rating like DF/PA/SC of 75+ still has to pass through waivers. I would of loved to have used the rule with Justin Braun but didn't have my 3rd player selected in time, and I personally would have no player of that ilk being able to pass through waivers with out being risked.
As for the 50+ player rule, I would be good with that as long as you can keep players on the prospect list if you choose as long as they haven't played more then say 25 NHL games (or even less) or 75 AHL games, something along those lines, or maybe you could sell off lesser players for 500K or something like that and they would just become UFA's and the team that sold them off wouldn't be allowed to bid on them.
