Plenty of activity in RFA to kick things off, good to see. Thats been a goal for awhile is to have that period active, especially for teams willing to roll the dice a bit and let their players test it, in hope of getting better contracts if their NHl deal is inflated.
Also good to see some newbies employing some strategy where RFA is concerned, some shrewd offers out there. Great to see.
Anyone else noticing anything in RFA? Or UFA? I like the way the sim operates UFA personally, only drawback is that it relies on Eric to keep uploading frequently.

The sim would be fine for UFA if it would produce a clear list of bids.. looking through a transactions list for the highest bid etc is a pain in the ass
One concern I have is that if you have bid on RFA's and used your available money for those bids, even if you win the bid you are not guaranteed the player as the owning team has the right to match. This seriously hampers your ability to budget for other bids. For example, I bid 4.75m on Erhoff but would like Phaneuf equally as much... I can only afford to bid on one and chose Erhoff. Assuming my bid wins 2 days later the offer is matched and I don't get Erhoff....now Phaneuf is gone as well and most likely anyone else of that caliber that would be suitable. Just wondering out loud if there could be a better way of doing these open forum bids. I know bidding 50m when you only have 10 available is not the answer but only being able to bid to 3m over the cap is tough as well. Just an observation.
It's tough sure. But teams shouldnt be able to operate like they have an unlimited budget.
I get your point though, but I think for now, it's one of those necessary evils. If you have a limited budget to begin with, you may have all your apples in one basket. Happens all the time in sports.
