Bidding Explanations

Since we have a few new GMs and because it can't hurt to refresh everyone's mind so that the next few days for Bryce and I are made easier.

We value contract offers based on the yearly amount/year: (yearly salary  + (total signing bonus/years))

So if Boston offers Mats Sundin a 3 year, $4,750,000 contract. The Max SB is $7,125,000.

If Boston offers Mats Sundin a 3 year, $4,750,000 contract, $6,000,000 SB. And NY Islanders offer Mats Sundin a 4 year, $5,000,000 contract, $6,000,000 SB. The Boston Bruins ($6,750,000/yr) would beat the offer that the NY Islanders ($6,500,000/yr) have placed.

Another example:

If Detroit offers Pavel Bure a 5 year, $6,250,000 contract, $10,000,000 SB. And Florida offers Pavel Bure a 2 year, $7,500,000 contract with a $3,000,000 SB. The  Florida Panthers ($9,000,000/yr) would beat the offer of the Detroit Red Wings ($8,250,000/yr).

If you guys need more explanations, let me know, but I think this should help.

I am sorry to say but this new UFA bidding system really is not user friendly can you please answer the following questions:

1. How can you see other bids in real time?

2. If you can't in real time then how do you know if you are outbid and be able to either put another one in or move to another player

3. When does the clock end on these guys?

The message board was much better for this, unless we are going to a one bid blind offer system. If that is the case then no problem but that has no been relayed to the GM's.

1. http://brhlhockey.com/BRHL2/File/Pre-Season6/BRHL2-Transactions.html

2.  The next update will show any progress done on the bidding. If you wish to remove yourself from the bidding because you've been outbid. Erase your bid for that player, and place your bid elsewhere.

3. 48hr clock starting from when the update is posted. If a higher offer is not received for the player, then the player signs after 48 hrs from the bid being updated in the sim. GMs will have 48 hrs from that time stamp to submit offers. If It's not in the league inbox by that 48 hr window expiring, then no offers will be accepted and the player has signed.

Can you clarify what you mean when you say "league inbox" above?  I'm assuming as long as the offer has been sent via email and received in the league's email inbox prior to the posted 48hr deadline then the offer is valid? Or does it have to be received and processed in the simulator prior to the 48hr deadline?

It has to be received prior to the 48 window closing. Closing bids don't deal with when I update the league, only whenever they are received. Where as, opening bids only matter when the league is updated, not whenever they are received.

When dropping from a bid, we don't repeat our selections in the Client file. That would erase the date stamp on our original bids??

We can just select a new player and state on the email who we are no longer interested??

Why are the time-stamps changing?

I agree. The Rangers offer to Brysgalov should be time stamped in the morning not this evening

This will show all the original offer times as well.

Why is Briere listed as UFA when he was tagged?

As leading bidder on Briere, this is definately a HUGE deal.  I didn't see Briere on the tagged list, and I'm not saying you did or didn't tag him.  I'm just concerned that I'm going to lose a potential UFA bid because of this.

If he was tagged then he shouldn't be here, same as Exelby that I tagged.

Players from the last draft were being bidded on and how is a 29 yo a RFA?
