NYR trade Recap

Since taking over the Rangers just over 2 weeks ago, general manager Andrew has completed seven trades and shed $25M cap space in the process.

A recap of the trades as follows:

To Rangers : Marc Staal, Ethan Werek (P), Alex Hutchings (P), Bryan Pitton (P), #9OV (Gudbranson), Phi 1 yr 7, Ana 1 yr 6.

To Blackhawks : Stephane Robidas, Curtis Glencross.
To Rangers : Marc-Andre Cliche, David Toews (P), James Livingston (P), Peter Delmas (P), #29OV (Jonathon Merril), Fla 3 yr 6 (Brandan Ranford).

To Bruins : Patrik Elias, Jay McClement, Chi 7 yr 6
To Rangers : Carl Gunnarsson, Tommy Wingels.

To Ducks : Tuomo Ruutu.
To Rangers : Steve Downie, Igor Bobkov (P).

This once aging NYR team is undoubtedly younger and has the potential to be a tough team if Wright can pick up some top tier players in UFA. "Our goal is to make the playoffs" said Wright.  "We will do whatever it takes to be a competing team each and every year.  We're not one of those teams that aim for rock bottom and make our fans suffer while we try land a top pick".
