The New York Rangers have traded Tuuomu Ruutu to the Anaheim Ducks in return for Steve Downie and goailie prospect Igor Bobkov who backstopped team Russia to a silver medal in the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championship.  

The Rangers are sad to see Ruutu go but we know he will excell with the strong Ducks team.  "We are very excited with our youth movement" said Wright.  "Downie will get a full time roster spot this season while Bobkov will be be sent down to the AHL for another year of developement. Look for the Rangers to go hard in UFA to fill up some gaping holes up front."
