I have spent the better part of today cleaning files, after Eric spent a good chunk of yesterday (and before getting them updated).
Please look at your squad. all prospects 25 and older have been cleaned off the prospect lists unless they are playing in AHL or NHL this season. A few other younger guys who have retired or are fast on the train to nowhere (CHL etc..) have been erased as well. You do still have their rights, they are block posted in the archives. I will have a cleaner file up soon.
The portal will hopefully be up and running late tomorrow. If you see glitches throughout the day, that is why.
At this point (with the exception of RFA's) we are considering everything finished and corrected. If you see any other issues, regardless of if you have notified us before. Please post them here and we can make sure they get handled.
Appreciate all your patience, big kudos to Eric as always, but Rex as well helping us get things caught up.
This has been a very compressed offseason (as you know) but I think we should have the ducks in a row to move forward smoothly.

Good day, Gentlemen.
With the V2 file now available, there are a few recently signed RFAs on my Tampa Bay Lightning who's ages have changed. I hope to discuss making changes to their contracts to accommodate the switch from V1 to V2.
Signed new contract last off-season:
Eric Nystrom: Was 26 and is now 28. Signed him last season to 2 year contract with plans to resign before becoming UFA. Has one year left on that contract. If possible, I would like to wipe the one remaining year off his contract and sign him this offseason to a new contract. Otherwise, I will lose him to UFA. (I have emailed his original RFA spreadsheet when I resigned him last year.)
Sign new contract this off-season:
Tampa Bay signs Marc Methot. 3 years, $1,113,750. Was 24 and is now 26.
Tampa Bay signs David Jones. 2 years, $837,500. Was 25 and is now 27. Tampa Bay signs Andrej Sekera. 4 years, $1,150,000. Was 23 and is now 25. Tampa Bay signs Marc-Antoine Pouliot. 3 years, $665,500. Was 24 and is now 26. Tampa Bay signs Jordan Hendry. 2 years, $600,000. Was 25 and is now 27. Tampa Bay signs Nathan Lawson. 4 years, $632,500. Was 23 and is now 27.
Based on these age changes, I would like to change the years of their new RFA contracts so that I can resign them prior to them becoming UFAs.
A. Niemi and T. Vanek were both at 25 years of age last year, their ages have now been dramatically changed
I would have never acquired either player for the amount I paid if I knew their ages were going to be adjusted this year to make them UFA the next year.
Can this be clarified before the draft, as if this is not going to be changed I would like the league to look at reversing my trade I made.
From Wild to Kings : Joe Thornton, Y:6-RND:1-Min, Y:6-RND:4-Min. From Kings to Wild : Thomas Vanek, Wayne Simmonds, Y:6-RND:5-Chi.
Which will also affects to two other deals that have been made since then.
I suggest that the commishes just do the right thing and allow these players to be RFA at the end of the contract that is all I am askin... Along with a number of players that were in the same situation on a number of other teams that have gotten screwed in this process...
they will be RFA at end of their deals.Weve stated that on numerous occasions. Guys who would have been RFA but now will be UFA due to age changes will be adjusted so their contract expires while they are still RFA
Players who are 28+ and expire this year, should have been RFA at end of deal will have their teams do their RFA deals now, and they will be tacked onto the current year total. STHS tracks this easily for us. Affected players are
Steve Weiss (Bos) Jordan Tootoo (Mon) Tom Gilbert (NJ) Marcel Goc (NJ) Carlo Coliacovo (NJ) Chris Thorburn (Cal) Curtis McElhiney (Cal) Adam Burish (Cal) Kyle Wellwood (LA) Eric Nystrom (TB) Tuomu Ruutu (NYR) Shaone Morrison (Det) Ilja Kovalchuk (Det) Anti Niemi (Min)
All other contract issues should be fixed when we update tonight.

Thorburn and Burish were just re-signed as RFA's earlier this year. McElhinney was still on his existing contract. Do you want us to re-negotiate their contracts, is that what you're saying? Or, can we just have a year added on to their contract? For me, I'm fine with just having a year tacked on to the deal (if we have a choice).
their salary this year will stay the same. You can do their RFA deal now though and we will add it to the duration of the deal (so theorhetically a guy may have a 6 year deal)
if this is taking a guy off a 5yr deal (aka laddy smid, and clarke macarthur) will those teams be granted an extra 5 year RFA deal for next offseason??

Thank you for correcting all my RFA contracts.
Can I please have Eric Nystrom signed to a 5 year extension @ 2.1 per season as per the RFA resigning rules. (email to follow)
Cheers!
