BRHL2 Playoff Predictions

Why dont we get some chatter going on this topic here.. start to get the board alive again since its been dead for so long now..

My predictions for the 1st round

St. Louis (1) vs Los Angeles (8)

LA played well and survived some scare to make their playoff debut.  Might be a short lived debut.  Blues in 5.

Dallas (2) vs Detroit (7)

Took Game 82 for Detroit to place their mark on the playoff season. Nice to even grab the 7th seed.  This series will be a hell raiser full of hits, injuries BUT NOT GOALS..  Detroit in 6 games.

Colorado (3) vs San Jose (6)

Avs won their division long long ago so not alot of meaningful games heading into the postseason.  Unfortunately the rust will show in the first round.  Sharks in 7 games.

Chicago (4) vs Nashville (5)

Just like LA, Nashville heads their first playoff birth but will succumb to the same result as the Kings.   Blackhawks in 5 games.

Buffalo (1) vs Carolina (8)

Sabres secured top spot in the tough Eastern Conference.  Carolina barely makes the playoffs in a tough Eastern Conference.  On paper should be no brainer, on ice.... well Buffalo in 7 games.

New York R (2) vs New Jersey (7)

Travel will not be a worry in this series.  Having Duchesne and Morris out will be a worry for the Devils.  New York Rangers in 5 games.

Atlanta (3) vs Toronto (6)

Atlanta looking to go back to back to finals.  Toronto would love to play spoiler but to no avail.  Thrashers will play on.  Atlanta in 6 games.

Boston (4) vs Florida (5)

Boston was once in 14th place in the East.  They steamrolled to a 4th place finish.  Hop on the Bruin train cause Florida will receive a beating.  Boston in 4 games.

not bad 5-3 record in first round.. predicted 2 series correctly.

round 2.

Dallas (2) vs Los Angeles (8)
Like i said at the start of the season. The Pacific division was probably the toughest division in the BRHL2 and we have 3 teams entering the final 4 of the conference. LA pulled off a huge upset taking down the President Trophy Winner Blues. Dallas made quick work of Detroit. Every season needs a cinderella story. LA in 6 games.

Chicago (4) vs San Jose (6)
Hawks had some defence trouble in round 1. Sharks took their series to OT of game 7. Both will need a good start to the series to gain momentum. I believe we need one Central Division opponent left. Hawks in 7 games.

Buffalo (1) vs Florida (5)
Buffalo didnt have much of a worry against Carolina while Florida made the quickest work of any first round winner winning in 5 games. 2nd Round becomes a bigger opponent and to be the best you got to beat the best. Unfortunately this best team is just a mountain to big to climb. Sabres in 5 games.

New York (2) vs Atanta (3)
This is the series most wanted to see. Goalie vs Goalie, Rinne and Miller. One of them will be winning the Vezina and hopefully one of them will be winning the cup as well. One has to fall this series and its gut check time. That extra home game might come in handy. New York in 7 games.
