Philly Franchise Changing Trade

Philadelphia made a bold move for their franchise today, and after several MONTHS of haggling was able to find a package suitable for the underperfoming Roberto Luongo.

On a personal level it is nice to know I can heartily cheer when the Canucks choke again in the playoffs, probably in the first round.. and I would love to move out Desbiens & Higgins (hey he was traded there, cant hold it against him) so I dont have any of those losers on my roster.

Also on the way out from Philly is Ian Laperriere. But the big picture is what the Flyers organization was looking towards tonight.

By acquiring Zach Bogosian (underperforming in the NHL, yes; but also going to be moved somewhere where his talents will shine), and to a lesser extent Casey Cizikas and a 5th round pick, along with some much needed cap space, the Flyers have given ourselves a huge chance to be competetive for the cup in 2 seasons.

By having 5 elite young dmen in Pitkanen, Subban, Bogosian, M. Staal, Girardi available to be under contract for several seasons, and a stable of forwards including 2 staals, malkin, koivu, havlat, stafford, little in my top-9 under contract for 4 more seasons minimum (havlat and koivu), plus a 4th line of moen, brodziak, and higgins ALL having much better NHL seasons... I feel this combination gives me a very decent chance at a good season next year no matter who I find to fit in my top-9 F group (2 players) and also at G (thin crop).

Yes, today marks a new era for the Flyers organization as the following assets are also going to be dealt as soon as LEAGUE ACTIVITY PICKS UP!!!!!!!! smile

CHRIS ****ING PRONGER! - THE elite defenseman in the entire BRHL2 when it comes to offense/defense/toughness. CP44 is available to the highest bidder before our trade deadline... if you want him from now until the end of the year, get in touch.. I will not hold offers on him, so if you want him, engage me in some serious discussions and lets get this done!

Chris Mason - The #9 OV rated Goalie for this BRHL2 season, Mason can be had for an incredibly low price. Get in touch with me ASAP, as he will be gone shortly.
Travis Moen
- Very, very good rates for a defensive 3rd line winger on any team. Mtl in NHL is best PK team thanks in large part to this guy. Tough as nails too.
Chris Higgins - Playing a tonne of minutes this season. Great rates in the BRHL2 for this year, and hes already surpassed his last NHL year's point totals!! Will re-rate nicely, especially now that he's gonna get a chance with Vancouver's elite top 2 lines :)
Ian White - A great 2nd unit PP guy in the NHL and BRHL2 with a great contract... The perfect 3rd unit dman on any strong contender.
Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers -  Open to offers on this guy. Prospects/picks only.

Veteran Available Assets
Andy Sutton/Brendan Witt - Will take a prospect or pick to get one of these excellent defensive shut-down types for your playoff chances. For Sutton a 3rd. For Witt, a 4th.
V. Kozlov - Kozlov would also be a great addition to any playoff team's 2nd or 3rd lines (currently on my 2nd line) and his contract conveniently comes off the books after this season as well. Asking a 5th round pick.

If you are interested in a deal, get ahold of me @ leakrex@yahoo.com; rexleak@brhlhockey.com; ICQ @ 265238888, or via PM...

Thanks,
Rex
