- First things first, even though there hasn't been a lot of activity on the message boards (aside from trade blocks), the amount of line changes, position changes, trades and e-mails that I've received would say that activity in this league is probably as strong as it's ever been. I'm getting, on average, 4 sets of line changes a night. I don't remember it ever being that high, even in the begining or end of a season. Keep up the excellent work, it does not go unnoticed.
- The league will be on break for a few days, starting Thursday Feb 24 till Sunday Feb 27. Games will resume Monday the 28th. I'll be moving during that time and should be back to normal and able to offer a league update Sunday or early Monday.
- We're nearing the half-way point of the season in a few days. The All-Star game will be coming up shortly. I'll create a ballot before the hiatus next week, and have voting due a week later. More to come on this.
- The trade deadline is also approaching. The NHL deadline is set when teams are somewhere around 18 games left in the season. We will aim to do the same. That would put us around a March 20th date for a trade deadline. I would expect something around that date, I will clarify within the next week or two regarding the date.
- I'll be taking PM's for any trade rumors regarding your team leading up to the trade deadline. I'll add them into the other rumors that are circulating the net and post them. If anyone wants this job for some BRHL2 $$$ let me know.
- RFA signings will be starting shortly. The process will be the same as last year during the season, 4 signings per team during the season, all done according to the RFA calculator. If anyone wants to be my best friend and help out with this one I'll buy you a house. I'll aim to get this up and running before the trade deadline so that teams can have the ability to trade upcoming RFAs if they'd like. Full details to come when this is ready to go.
The BRHL2 is in it's 5th season and we're in full stride of the part that makes all the hard work in the early years worth it. The league is pretty much running itself. As with any league it takes time for GMs to get accustomed to the rules and the way things are done, but we're starting to see that coveted comfort factor you guys have with the league. We don't have to sell you guys on how we're going to run the league, as we all have confidence that I'm the smartest commissioner out there, and well, there's Bryce. But seriously, thanks guys. Keep up the great work that makes this league fun to run for Bryce and myself.

Agree that the league is doing very well... There are the same 10-15 guys that are ICQ regulars and always available to talk trade or just shoot the breeze.... but the difference between this year and previous ones is that the other 10-15 guys are also active and available to deal with in a 48-72 hr time frime at the most....
Cheers to Eric and Bryce; Cheers to all the guys for keeping activity up; and cheers to keeping this thing going strong in the future!

i, too, definately agree this has been the strongest season we have seen to date... lots of trades, lots of activity, chats on message board. I can totally see a waiting list for other gm's wanting to join this league. Keep up the great work to everyone :)
I'm not on ICQ a ton but I see the same guys. Everyone has responded to PMs and emails as well.
I've definitely lost the love for ICQ. I always have these random names trying to add me and talk to me, gets very annoying. Maybe another IM service in the near future? :)
