After the first two games of the BRHLE Finals were one goal game's it shouldn't come as a surprise that the final and deciding game went to over time between Karlstad Farjestads BK and Moscow Dynamo, but it didn't take long to decide the winner as Jaroslav Hlinka quickly ended the game just 26 seconds into OT to give Farjestads BK the win and the first ever BRHLE Championship!

"I'm very proud of the guys, they worked hard all year, we were the top team during the regular season and we kept that going right through the playoffs," said an excited GM Rob Botham.

It wasn't an easy win by any means as Karlstad came out very flat only registering only 2 shots on net in the first period, and falling behind 2-0 on goals by Alexander Korolyuck and Marko Jantunen of the Moscow Dynamo it looked like Karlstad had run out of gas, but a quick goal by Hlinka just 29 seconds into the first gave Farjestads BK some life before Daniel Corso registered his playoff leading 7th goal to tie the game at two, even though Moscow Dynamo was still controlling the play.  In the 3rd period Moscow Dynamo stepped it up even further out shooting Farjestads BK 17-7, but they were unable to beat playoff MVP Aleksandr Eremenko setting the stage for the dramatic OT victory.

"We played well as a team all year long and especially in the playoffs," said Eremenko, "most games my night was easy as our offence would come up big, it just happened to be my turn to help lead our team to victory."

Team Captain Daniel Corso, praised his team mates, but especially that of line mate Fredrick Bremberg who led the league in scoring during the playoffs.

"Freddy didn't have a great year by his standards but he really stepped it up for us in the playoffs, and was a very important part of this win!"

The players and management will take some time to enjoy this victory, but will quickly get to work this summer to make sure they can defend their title next year, against what is sure to be tougher competition through out the league.
