With the move of Alex Edler earlier in the week the Thrashers organization was set on bringing in another good young dman for our teams future before the trade deadline next week. With the team currently having some great depth prospect/youth wise the team set its eyes on trying to land a true impact player..


In a move that see's a huge package leaving Atlanta with one of the brass's favorite young NHL'ers leaving town in W.Simmonds along with K.Alzner, B.McMillan, M.Wahl, along with the Thrashers 1st in Yr 6. The 4 players and 1st rounder is a big bounty but the brain trust in Atlanta felt it ok to move that bounty for a player they have to be very high on in the young Tyler Myers. Along with Myers comes a vetern Teppo Numminen, and also La's 4th in yr 6..

The teams G.M had this to say following the latest deal in Atlanta,

"With giving up the kind of assets we did we had to be convinced we were landing a top top end performer and we feel we are getting that in Tyler. He has the size, skating to be a multiple time norris winner in our opinion.. Getting Teppo was a solid move with his Ex-LD to help us this season in the playoffs."
