With a little over a week to the trade deadline, the Boston Bruins are amping up their efforts to build the team into a legit threat to Buffalo and Atlanta in the Eastern conference.
The focus in Boston has been on identifying the teams strengths and weaknesses, and they are ready to add a big name prior to the deadline, along with other subsequent deals as well.
The most rumoured names to be leaving Boston include NHL proven youngsters such as Nik Kulemin, Jordan Hendry, and Gilbert Brule. Also rumoured to potentially be moving are Mike Commodore, Milan Hejduk, Chris Higgins, and Mathieu Schneider.
The team is looking to pick up a star calibre defenseman, preferably UFA to be, and a star defensive winger. With 1.8 in cap room right now, plus any contract moving out, the Bruins have the flexibility to get something done, and are expected to be working the phones hard up until the deadline.
