Start Date and Roster Setup:

I will be getting all the rosters up on the tournament site today.  Please check your team over.

I hope to start simming games in Wednesday, but we have to sort out Germany first.


Tournament format:

2 Conferences, 6 teams in each conference.
Each team plays the other 5 teams in their conference once in the round robin.

Following the round robin it is very similar to the real Olympic tournament.

Top 2 teams in each conference get a buy to the quarter finals.
Bottom 4 teams in each conference will play cross-over, with 1 vs. 4, 2 vs. 3.
Winners will join the top 4 teams in the quarterfinals

Seeding (and tiebreakers) are determined however the sim does it.

Guessing it is GF/GA rather than head-to-head.


Simming:

Simming occurs every WEEKDAY around 12-2pm EST.

Most likely we will not be able to use the portal to its full extent beyond the round robin as the auto tournament format for the sim is dumb so we'll just be simming exhibition games for the playoffs. (most likely).  More details on that when we get there...


Player Position Eligibility:

You may request forward position changes by using the position change request function in the portal.  All position change requests must be accompanied with some form of hyperlink to prove the player plays  the position.  You may still play guys out of position in your lines but it will hurt their ratings.  This is reflective of what happens in real tournaments where some players (especially centres) play out of position, and are not as effective as they may be at their natural position.  If you are playing players out of position, you still must have 3 forwards dressed at each position (proper position) so that the sim will function. (ie you cannot dress 8 centres and have 4 of them playing out of positon as LWs as the sim requires at least 3 actual LWs dressed).
