Ilya Bryzgalov (SJ) made it a very close 2nd.

And for the record, Gareth didn't influence the decision. Staal was already in the running.

Just a suggestion but it would be nice to know the days in which December was. I know that J. Arnott had a killer run but no idea if it was in the month of December. It would be nice to have a system in place where each team has an opportunity to nominate a player of the month and then get considered for this award. It would save time on the commishes part too in determining the winner. If a team does not feel they have a player worthly of the pick they simpily decline to send in a player for consideration.

Just a thought to make the process a bit fairer.

The months are sim days, the first month was days 1-30, second was 31-60... Jason Arnott had a solid month, his 19 points in 15 games should get recognized with a mention....

I actually agree with Derek's suggestion, forcing the gms to find a player off his roster would increase activity in the league and would lessen the strain on the commish...

I agree with the recommendation too, though there should be guidelines for these submissions so that the commishes don't have to read a page long writeup from Kirk every month about how amazing his players are... lol... maybe just like 1-2 sentences + stats.

to further that point steve... we dont mind reading it cause the players he thinks are amazing are usually traded after a 3 game stint and some of them make it to our teams... so technically everyone that is associated with the Thrashers franchise at some point is phenominal... im glad i got stoll lol.

I am fully open to the ability for GMs to nominate once player per month. It would not have to be your own.

I'm willing to pay each GM 100K per nomination. Again, only one per team, per month. And I would up it to 350k per nomination if you can provide the monthly breakdown in stats / reasoning for nomination.

For the record, Gareth is right about the months. We're going on the sim days, which can be found next to your team schedule and also in the league schedule. 1-30, 31-60, 61-90, etc.

It would be nice to have a deadline for the submissions like 5 days after game cutoff, that way everyone knows the cutoff date for submissions. Teams could also post their own player of the month on their team pages if they wanted to make a creative write up instead of sending all this crap to the commishes. The submission should be straight stats, and if you want to make your case earn by doing a write up your home page.

Again just a suggestion.

with eric's isles playing so well someone from his team should probably considered but obviously eric wouldnt pick his own guy,, just a thought to get a poll, and then it's voted on and no one can gripe.. lets guys post their nominations/pimp their guys performance over the month,. with not much activity on the boards i figure would be good idea..
