Team Czech has qualified for the playoffs, and have hurried to sign GM John Devaney to a contract extension through the 2010 Olympics.
Led by Jakub Voracek, the team has solidified it's spot in the playoffs, and is waiting to see who they will match up with in the first round. No doubt Voracek realizes he is now also audition for an Olympic spot.
The Czech team's expectations were low coming into the tournament, but they have been one of the biggest surprises thus far!
Considering the goaltending options Quebec had I think the expectations listed were a bit unrealistic, but I have no problems passing along the GM duties to someone else.
