NYI 1st

It's officially on the block.

ICQ is probably the best way to get a hold of me.

A lot (roughly 10) have already asked about this pick, so please come to me with your best offer.

I have a few offers in e-mail / PM, and you should be getting a response from me soon.

I'm going to make my decision by Wednesday night, so please get your offers in prior.

Doughty! Future 65 point Dman, great skating, end to end with the best of them, incredible feet, great offensive instincts better than advertised on the back end. Franchise defensemen. Get your offers in early, often and don't mess around.

My honest opinion is that it this pick as the same value as #1 overall.

3 years at $1,250,000

Haha I'm just trying to pimp his player as I know he won't do that. I'm not even kidding though, Doughty may be the best player in the draft when all is said and done- I'm incredibly high on him.

There are only 30 teams in the league, meaning there should be really only technically 30 franchise players. I have a hard time believe the top 6 are all those, but you could be right.

How do you know I haven't offered the moon already? JK I wouldn't pimp him so much if I was going to make a move. For Doughty I'd have to get rid of Letang+ and I'm not prepared to do that as you all know i have a man-crush on him.

Are you suggesting the one of Crosby or Malkin is not a franchise player?

No, I'm saying the term franchise player should only be used in regards to roughly the top 30 players in the league; that does not mean that a team cannot have two, and a team cannot have zero.

Pittsburgh is a great example of 2 and NYI prior to Hedman/Tavares draft have 0.

Not to far off from how you actually operate.

Is there a suggestion that someone would either make a large offer or "suggest" he would make a large offer to affect the market on a player (s)?

Or even suggest that players have reduced value because of their salary structure in general?

That stuff never happens. ;)  Just look at TSN.ca and see Brian Burke's comments on Heatley.

As for NYI 1st.  Great asset.  Wish I was in a position to offer what Eric needed to get it done.

I only have first line forwards and top pair defensemen to move.  LOL

Well, the pick is officially off the block biggrin

Either Doughty or Stamkos will be playing for Florida next season.  All it took was 3 firsts in this year's draft eyepopping.gif

I would post this on the main board, but I can't find the damn link.

Congrats my friend. I thought 3 firsts were quite a lot but you are definitely getting a superstar in Doughty.
