GM Bachul ponders GM of the Year nomination

(AP) Chicago

"Well, first of all, I have to mention Dave Yee.  Without him, the team wouldn't be a perrenial contender like it is.  With great franchises, like the ones built by the Hollands and Lamioreillos of the world, the instilling into the players that the franchise is built by continuity.  Dave is a key to that.

Secondly, it is humbling to be nominated and being measured against your peers.  There are at least 20 GMs deserving of such a nomination, and it has just been nice to be mentioned against some great GMs.

As everyone knows, I have had some personal things that have taken away some attention from the league.  The team was mostly built before the season started, with some tweaks along the way.  That said I would like to endorse selecting someone else as GM of the year.

I have someone in mind that I will throw our support behind, and thought about mentioning him by name, but I don't want to skew the vote.  But, he is a GM that not only has built a great team, but enhances the league by performing duties, as well as league write ups.  Not only that, he is very professional and always a pleasure to deal with.  I hope he wins."

That said, good luck to all nominees.

Oh yeah..and P.S.

Brian Burke sucks.
