I am happy to announce that Steve Vardy has been hired by the league in an administrative role.
His official title will be Tournament Director, and he will work closely with me on all BRHL International tournaments. For his efforts, Steve will receive a yearly BRHL salary of 2.5 million paid out after the cup finals each season.
With the changeover to STHS, and the ease of transferring ratings, and creating tournaments, the BRHL2 is going to be running multiple international tournaments each year, and it is important to use to have someone we trust and can rely on to run things on the international stage. Steve has been a BRHLer for a long time, he has experience in simming roles in other leagues, and his ongoing dedication and assistance to the league is very much appreciated.
We will have a league email address hooked up for Steve in the very near future to use for tournaments and other roles.
Congratulations Steve, welcome to the administrative section of BRHL Hockey.
This really is a perfect situation for me as I really do enjoy the simming aspect but I don't have the time/patience to be a full-time simmer. I'm happy to contribute by taking over the tournament simming and administration. I apprecieate Bryce doing the leg-work for this tournament up to this point (well, up to Monday). As some of you know I was busy the last while with finishing my degree, but I successfully defended on May 1 and now look forward to being able to contribute some of my time to the BRHL2.
These tournaments are just another reason this is such a great league, and only getting better. I am amazed with the level of activity in this league during all portions of the season. From offseason to regular season to playoffs there is always great and productive discussion on the boards, and this is why this league will undoubtedly be around for a long, long time.
