"Buffalo really showed how willing they were to do anything to win in the first round," Bruce Boudreau quoted after the game. "After injuring our starting goalie in game 6 leaving him fatigued for game 7, they injure our leading points scorer in our most desperate period of the season.  I'm proud of the boys and how they accomplished what no one expected them to against the Sabres.  We will have some changes for next season, but it really would have been great to see these 2 teams play those last 3 periods again with fully rested players.  We almost pulled off the upset of the season by almost beating them by 1/2 as many losses they suffered all year.  Next season, we will be back to take on this and many teams in the playoffs"
