The Chicago Blackhawks dressing room didn't exactly look like a team that was excited to advance to the 2nd round. The room was reserved, some rock music played at a moderate volume reverberated in the background as the media started discussing the series and the upcoming test versus Dallas in the 2nd round.
"It wasn't exactly textbook, winning this series." stated head coach Bryan Murray. "But they deserve a lot of credit. They got that big win in OT and they took that momentum and ran with it."
The players looked far more relieved than excited about the win.
"It seemed like after game four, they had that big emotional win." began captain Joe Thornton. "It seemed like they were playing their game. And Franzen...he was a beast."
But now only a short time to regroup, the team is looking forward to the upcoming series. "It doesn't get easier from here." stated Vincent Lecavalier. "The fight has just begun."
