I will be sending out awards ballots on Monday, so everyone has the weekend to bring their case forward for their players, and bump one of my top 5 for each category. Comments from the peanut gallery are more than welcome

Not that i am biased or anything but Chris Mason was able to put up huge numbers when it mattered the most down the stretch run putting up a .692 winning % a .917 sv% (combined with a league leading sv% of .916), 4 shutouts (totaling 7 for the year) which was good enough for share of the shutout lead and a GAA of 2.15 down the stretch which gave him a GAA of 2.20 for the year good enough for 2nd. All of this was done on a team that had a real risk of missing the playoffs only to fall just short in the battle for 4th.
In recap .692 Win% down the stretch (26 games, 18 wins) .916 sv% 1st Overall (.917 during the stretch run) 7 Shutouts tied for 1st Overall (4 in his final 26 games) 2.20 GAA 2nd Overall (2.15 during the final 26 games)

rex is a horrid image as "oil fans" on this board tho..
because he over estimates every oil players potential gives an unrealistic showing of our real fan base who knows nillson is a horrible floater who dreams of the day he can say he's as good as kristian huselius at the floating game.. and know gilbert might be the west's defensive version of M.Green (worst you can imagine)

so again dont lump all of us with rex PLEASE.
1. These arent even complete/cohesive/informative sentences. 2. Gilbert is fairly strong defensively as "proven" (LOL) by his PK time of 2:32 per night (to go along with 2:54 of PP). He had 45 points this past year (in his sophomore season in the NHL). He also makes exactly 650k for me next year. 3. Nilsson is worth 25% more now without MacTavish as coach. And will be worth 40% more in value if he ever gets dealt to an Eastern Conference team. He also makes only 1.32 mil this year, and is an extremely skilled passer that has played with "true" snipers like penner, gagner, cogliano, reddox, etc.... imagine him as kovalchuks winger... 4. Since we're bashing assets: Eric Cole 3 yrs left @ 4.82 mil and Carey Price is more valuable than Geno 5. You are missing the whole point of this thread, which is to bash Luongo and the sad, sad miserable Canucks. It must really hurt to have to think of a Canucks team without Luey and both Sedins in 2 years At least Gillis will have Sundin, Demitra, etc. 6. Tambellini and Burke were the only good personnel guys there and the Canucks ****ty ownership hired an agent to do the job instead 7. I hate the Canucks and love the Oilers, so shoot me!
