Markus Naslund = Hall of Famer?

1117 GP
395 Goals
475 Assists
869 points

Had a friend who is a Canuck fan ask me if I thought Naslund would be a Hall of Famer. My initial thought was no, but I decided to look up his stats and see what everyone thinks.

I definetely think he is well short of a Hall of Fame calibre player, but that 4 year stretch before the lockout, he sure was one of the premier players, he scored an average of 8 goals a game against the Oilers in that stretch I think.

I think he likely is one of the guys who really had his HOF chances killed by the lockout. Give him another year at a PPG pace and he's in the 950 range, and would be a more serious candidate.

I know there are ALOt of dillusional Canuck fans on here, what are their thoughts? HOF worthy or no?

I'm a Nuck fan, though I don't think his stats warrant an immediate induction into the hall of fame, I do believe he'll eventually enter the HOF...

he was one of the best snipers in the game pre-lockout, but when he got back from the lockout his heart just wasn't in the game anymore...

i believe he'll make the hall of fame eventually, but i wouldn't expect it to happen within a few years....

Maybe in a weak year when there aren't a lot of sure-fire Hall of Famers up for consideration.

This would be the only way I see him going into the hall of fame, I think he was a great player but he didnt even lead the Canucks out of the 2nd round of the playoffs and the only big award he ever won was the Lester B Pearson

depends entirely on how many more seasons he has in him as well...

if he plays 4 more years even at 35 points / year average puts another 140 on those totals, etc.

great player who made morrisson and bertuzzi look amazing even though they were above average players AT BEST. (ok bert was a hell of a sniping PF - while rocking the whole geico caveman look. ahahaha)

ps i hate the canucks and have both sedins and luongo on my team... somebody please make me good offers on these guys because I cant stand not cheering with 100% gusto against the canucks in these playoffs.. it sickens me a bit

Wouldn't have a problem either way. Kinda a fringe HOF'er imo. But then again, I think that the Tomas Homstrom's of the world should receive HOF recognition.

Tough call, he made the careers of both Bertuzzi and Morrison... Are 3-4 GREAT years enough to get into the hall?  As others have said, I think he's fringe and may get lucky if there is an off-year...  He's a classy guy and I hope he gets in.
