I have Artyukhins rights. FYI, it doesn't matter who has the rights...I think anyone not on an actual playoff roster can be chosen, so even if a playoff team had his rights, he isn't on the roster so he would be available.

My impression is that the pro, farm, and prospects from any team still in the playoffs are not eligible... I'll post this question in the "World Championships" thread to get a resolution.

Fair enough I read the rules but just for clarification if I medal and get to GM Russia for the olympics next year I will have Nabakov Zherdev etc available correct?

Also I think I will have trouble even icing a full roster with these rules will you just be creating guys like the minor league teams as LW 1 RW 1 etc so I have a full roster?

I found a site listing all Russian hockey players NHL statistics and honestly I don't think there are enough guys to ice a team.

http://www.quanthockey.com/Stats/NationalityStats.php?sort=P&action=NA_Players&pos=A&nat1=Russia&nat2=None&SS=200809&seasontype=r&activeflag=all

There are around 30 of them I think it includes guys in the AHL too.  I am rediculously short of icing a full team.

Nikulin
Mayorov
Anisimov

I think are the only 3 guys from Russia who played in the AHL this year.

This site lists Nabakov as Russian so when you click on goalies I have Khabibulin Varlamov and Bryzgalov to pick from.  As far as I know they might all cost as a playoff pickup if any of them become available.  Sorry to be a pain in the ass but honestly I'll either need guys like Morozov Alexandrov Radulov Zinojev etc created or I'll have to use LW 1 RW 1 guys to ice a team.

Markov
Tyutin
Kalinin
Zubov
Volchenkov
Don't look like they will be available so that leaves:

Grebeshkov
Babchuk ( Who has him he might not be available)
Gonchar
Semenov
I.Vishnevsky

That' it so 4 d-men and I need 3 more some how. Using the rules I'll have used all 5 of my playoff elimiantion additions and haven't even touched the forwards who are also short.

Yeah, so if there aren't enough guys to fill out the rosters it makes sense to just create filler players with the minimum stats.

Call them Morozov, Radulov, Zinojev if you like :P  They should still have minimum stats - 25's across the board I guess...

Why would they be created at 25's??  Not all Russians suck like the ones on the Habs.  If you look at the history of Russian hockey they tend to do well in international tournaments and always use guys that don't play in the NHL.  I'm not asking for Radulov Morozov Alexandrov Zinojev to be rated like they should be had they played in the NHL but moderate ratings in the 60's I don't think is out of the question.

I'm just basing that on the rules - we're using the ratings based on the 08-09 season, and since these guys arent rated, the standard procedure when rating unrated guys is to give them 25s or whatever...

Other teams in this tournament will have to do the same I think... this is one of the reasons I chose sweden.  I knew I wouldn't have to rely on guys who don't have ratings..

Also, the only Russians on the Habs (NHL) are Kovalev and Markov.  Since Kovalev and Markov are both top-line players I assume you must have been referring to the Kostitsyns, who are from Belarus.  While I might have expected that level of ignorance from a "typical" Bruins fan, I thought you knew better... then again, your man-crush on dirtbag Lucic points to you being a "typical" bruins fan who sees the world through the old Black and Gold glasses... :)

I'm guessing we are trying atleast to mirror a real WC tournament and there is no way in hell a Sweden Russia Match up would ever have that much discrepancy.  Even rating guys in the mid 60's your team will have a big advantage as you have lots of depth to choose from.  Sweden definately has the best roster going into this tournament.

I guess the lesson is "don't build around swedish players in the brhl2," the amount of swedish players you can pick obviously means they don't sim well :)

Russia was my 2nd pick when I was looking over the rosters, before I knew I was getting USA.

There should be enough to field a full 20+ man roster without a problem. You might not end up with the top end talent you want, but you shouldn't have to create any players
