Well, we were reasurred numerous times throughout the season that the minors would happen... so the argument that "I didn't think we were going to have a minors this year" is moot.

I agree that its ****ty that we may have to use the "best team on paper" technique to define who get's the minors money, but I don't see any other way to decide which teams deserve that $60.

My point really is that I am completely against taking money that was supposed to be for one thing - the minors - and putting it somewhere else.  It really isn't a stretch to say that it is like taking the playoff money and giving it to the non-playoff teams.  It's taking money from one area and putting it somewhere else.  To do that with the minors will set a very, very bad prescedent.  If I am going to pay money to participate in this league I want to know in advance how the winnings will be distributed AND I want to be assurred that the distribution will not change at some point mid-season.  I am not comfortable participating in this league if we are going to be changing the $ distribution mid-season.

Sounds like an Obama plan to me.

Best team on paper means just about as much as an OV rating.  Without having the sim run either a full Minors league or even adding the Minors to the normal sims, we'd never know who would actually win the Minors money.  With the Google ads 'n at that have shown up on the website indicate that maybe the league needs a few extra bucks to run the website.  Why don't we let the league office hold the money for web site fees and decide on a different payout system for next year to accomidate the extra funds remaining.  We CAN'T just decide NOW to give money to a team or few that were able to even fill out a minors roster.

I'm sure Bryce would not like it if we suddenly decided to award the bonus to the strongest team on paper as teams would suddenly look at their prospect list and ask to create AHLers from their prospect list giving him a ton of work to do....

Believe me when I say when I've had people tell me that "this thing will happen", how many times it doesn't.... so since i knew that bryce had been low on time with his new baby, i wasn't really expecting a minors season....

If you're hell-bent on the minors still being paid out, then I think the only solution to sim a whole season with just the minors rosters to find out who wins with their current roster....

However, on another point, what will the 0.5% go to from the All-Star MVP for this season?

I think this is a great idea.... eric does lots of work and his team is so horrible he should have put it in the expansion draft last year and gave himself a chance.

I would also like to say I had a good minor league team at the start of the year and traded a lot of them as it got evident the minors weren't going to happen.

Since this turned into being the most misleading thread of all time (not counting of any Kirk's posts), I'll try to offer my answers to the initial questions.

I will say I'm looking into starting a shortened Minor League season this weekend. My goal is to simply to a quick conversion of the BRHL2 FHL Ratings into a STHS format. Sim the games and league, but only output the Minor League information.

Like I said, I have to look into it deeper. But that is my gameplan.

The league also doesn't have to end the same time as the BRHL2's regular and playoff season. It can very well continue a little bit into the off-season, so that it gets completed.

Bryce had planning on doing the minors this season but got too busy near the begining of the league and dumped them off of me. I was all in favor of using the FHL sim outputs for the minors this season, but Bryce talked me out of it an here we are. :)

As I'm sure most of you can understand sometimes these things can warrant a decent size of work. I'm hoping to minimize that and bring some resemblence of a Minor Leagues.

Regarding the All-Star MVP, I think that the payout will either carryover or get dispersed into a few other payouts.

I like Kirk's plan. If a the whole minors thing doesn't work out, I think it should go to Eric. Guy busts his butt, and while the 4% or whatever it is does trivialize all the work he puts in- I think it's amazing how he gave up his team which was pretty decent for a team that was left in shambles (which will suck for at least this season and next).

Now I know Eric will be against this unless it's completely unanimous because thats just the kind of guy he is, but honestly put your self in his position.

Well you probably know me too well. But I would not, nor will I accept something like that, so that discussion can be put to rest. :)

The money will be placed for good use.

If you need any help with this let me know, I don't know STHS but as of this afternoon I should have a bit more time to help out of needed as I am submitting my thesis today!
