Picking up just 4 points from the past 5 games, GM Evans knew he had weaknesses on his lineup. After moving most of his roster, he knew that his team had become top heavy, lacking the depth he once had.
Hoping to address the situation, Evans acquired Jochen Hecht from the Coyotes and Andrew Brunette from the Lightning. They are currently penciled in on the 3rd line with Mike Peca but Brunette may see time on the 2nd line powerplay.
The Blues also feel they've addressed the problem on defense, acquiring Tom Poti from their favourite trading partners Phoenix.
Now the lineup for their game against Anaheim looks like:
Pavel Datsyuk - Eric Staal - Chris Kunitz Paul Kariya - Mike Fisher - Brian Rolston Jochen Hecht - Mike Peca - Andrew Brunette Ben Guite - Manny Malhotra - Scott Nichol
Sergei Zubov - Chris Phillips Tom Poti - Hal Gill Joseph Corvo - Ladislav Smid
