RE: Who won Deadline Day?

On paper, the two teams you all are talking about losing deals(Anaheim and Carolina) have won cups in the last 20 years.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. :)

Oh trust me I know- but a few good first steps.

Also, I think the Pens are going to make an impact again in the playoffs. Fluery has started to play well- Gonchar's difference is massive. Crosby back healthy- Guerin and Kuntiz on the team. I wouldn't be suprised to see something good happen in the east.

Right now though, I don't think I'd want to play NJ over there.

Although I'm sure all of us think that Carolina overpaid for Cole, but he's definitely sparking Staal's play (6 points last night) and 15 goals in 2 games, Carolina are making a push for the playoffs....

Cole is a beauty of a player when he is on his game...

playing for that new deal in carolina has sparked him forsure..

Cole for Osullivan and a 2nd? Great trade for the Oilers.

Now let me ask a question, what the frig were the hurricane thinking?

well, cole has started a fire under the canes... 12-1-2 in the past 15 games, cole has 14 points in 15 games and staal's been on fire.... i actually think they could be the darkhorse in the east to make the finals....

the oilers on the other hand have sucked and o'sullivan has 5 points in 16 games....

i think carolina felt that making the playoffs was worth the sacrifice of o'sullivan and a 2nd and cole enjoyed success in carolina with staal... from what i've seen so far, it looks like carolina made a ballsy move and so far it's paid off for them....

very ballsy move for their team.. ward's play has been big reason they playing better cole hadnt had a point in 4-5 games, but his 5 assists in last two are nice.. I NEED HIM TO KEEP SCORING at 42pts his 4.9 cap hit is untradeable.

Cam Ward is on pace to be the scariest goalie to face in the playoffs. He's regained his Conn Smythe form.

Although he was pulled in tonight's game against Buffalo after giving up 4 goals on 13 shots :)

That is a solid 1-2, I am jealous.
