Ottawa - It has been rumoured since he was first acquired for Derek Morris that Scott Hannan's time in Ottawa would be short but it sounds like he could be on the move any day now, as unconfirmed reports suggest two western conference rivals are closing in on the defenseman's services!

"We are obviously a rebuilding team, and Scott (Hannan) is a valuable asset, but at this point in time we don't have anything to announce, maybe closer to the deadline we will have something for you guys," said GM Rob Botham.

When asked if any of the rumoured teams (TOR, MTL, and LA) were involved in any of the trade discussions the Ottawa GM gave a very vague answer.

"We have had discussions with lots of teams about various players as I'm sure just like many other GM's have been talking, but with the deadline looming does that honestly surprise anyone?"

"As far as I know I'm still an Ottawa Senator, and I'm looking forward to getting back on the ice and trying to help this team pick up as many wins as we can get down the stretch," added Hannan.

Whether the deal is made in the next few days or on deadline day one thing is clear Scott Hannan's time in Ottawa appears to be coming to an end!
