OK a few more details with this one. I took six teams and changed their finances to zero to start the year, one from each division. Phoenix, Calgary, Detroit, Boston, Philly and Tampa. With the finances slider on 50 here are their regular season profits
Phoenix - 3.1 million Calgary - 5.9 million Detroit - 9.1 million Boston - 4.2 million Philly - 2.1 million Tampa - 6.4 million
So some good ranges and all teams (of different skill levels) turning a profit. With teams having slightly different cap numbers, the three teams with the lowest cap hits (TB, Det and Cal) turned the most profit, which seems logical to me. Teams spending more need a playoff run to make up that revenue. In all honestly, I really like the variance, and the numbers that teams are turning, add in funds to IR guys, trades etc, I think this loooks pretty viable financially.
Settings for this sim, I did not change from the last one Finance - 50 Goals - 30 Penalties - 45 Shots - 55 Hits - 40
Some observations. - Malkin is a beast - Again teams with experienced stars seem to be simming well - Ovechkin had an off year (by his standards) - My Bruins sucked like they do in FHL - in 07-08 NHl teams average 2.72 goals per game. In this sim 2.73. NICE!!! - Save percentages look a bit too high across the board for starters IMO. Maybe truning down shots a few notches will help. - Kari Lethonen is a beast - NHL 07-08 PP% avg 17.7 - Test Sim PP% avg 16.2 - NHL 07-08 avg PIM/g = 14 - Test Sim avg PIM/g = 12
So I probably can knock the shots down a peg or two the next sim, and increase the penalties by a touch as well.
DAMN!!!..... minnesota finished in 9th place.. with 100 PTS... and missed the playoffs... that is nuts.. they would have gotten a 6th seed in the eastern conference.
well im running through zillions right now with all the unassigned players and UFAs thrown on teams to make the minors work. Once I have the sliders where they appear to be working, and do the final roster tweaks, and you slackers have your RFA done. I will post a few more test sims
