Can someone please explain this process to me....(rookie ratings)

I would like to know why P.Berglund has such low ratings in the B2? I just created him, and yes before I did I was warned that rookies don't get great ratings.....but this is ridiculous. He is a 55 OV with 50's straight across the board. Has he not been rated yet, just simply created? If that is the case please accept my appologies for bringing this up. However when I look around the league I can point out MANY players with the exact same experience in the NHL as Berglund or even less and most of them have SIGNIFICANTLY better ratings:

S.Matthias: 62
K.Chipchura: 67
K.Okposo: 63
P.Kontiola: 68
K.Versteeg: 68
L.Bourdon: 69
J.Boychuck: 64
K.Turris: 66

......P.Berglund: 55

Can someone please explain this to me? He has basically the exact same stats and NHL games as Versteeg and is doing far better than Turris. Chipchura, Kontiola, Boychuk and Matthias aren't even in the NHL.

Thanks,

James

Probably no ratings yet, but also note that the ratings will have NOTHING to do with performance in the 2008-2009 season.

If they are 50s accross the board then he hasn't been rated, those are the defunct ratings assigned by FHL.

Because the season we are running was ran based on the 07-08 season, and he did not play in North America, he will not receive ratings, guys can be created simply to fill roster spots if they didnt play in the AHL or NHL last season.

The only guy currently on your prospect list that could be created with more than default ratings would be COlton Gillies as he played 11 games in the AHL last season. But keep in mind that he would be rated based on those 11 AHL games, and not what he currently is, so you would likely be looking at something in the low 60ov range for Gillies.

The main point to remember is that all ratings this season were based on the 2007-2008 season, so what they would have rated last May when the ratings were done.
