Detroit Block

God damn, I hate my team.  One, because they suck, and two, because I don't want to make any changes.

These are the guys I'm throwing out there.  I think I can still compete next season, so i'm looking for young guys to help me out next season or picks in return.

Brent Burns - a ton of people have been asking.  I'm throwing him out there.  I don't want to move him, but if I can get a good overpayment that will set me up for the next few years, I will take him.  A perfect addition to any playoff team, 79OV and only a 800k salary

Mark Eaton - fairly cheap defenseman with a very high DF.  great shutdown depth guy for a playoff run.

Johan Holmqvist - good backup for anyone looking for an upgrade
Randy Robitaille - pretty good SC for a 4th line player
Glen Murray - good secondary/depth scoring winger

Thats it for now.  I know that Modano and Alfie are on the last years of their contracts, but I plan on tagging them for next season.  They could be had, but was not planning on moving them yet.

PM or email would be the best way to get ahold of me.

Thanks,
Ian

Just a note... Lemieux tag players are 77ov or higher during the season BEFORE they become unrestricted.

That means you can only pick one of Modano and Alfie can be tagged....

that rule is written wrong.. all the tags from the first two offseason were based on their new ratings.....now that with us switching to sths i have no clue how were going to tag guys this offseason, and is a ?? for the league brass...

i freiking thought we had discrepancies.... because chicago was able to nab visnovsky with his lowe tag after he was a 79 OV last year

per the visnovsky stuff, chicago still had both available so visnovsky could be tagged with a lemieux tag....

Q. When are tags used?
A- It all depends on the timing of when a tag is made. If you make known (through email) to the commish office during the season that you wish to tag Player X for the next season, it will depend on there rating at that time (Koivu for example). If you wait till after the ratings have been released, you have to use the tag on the player with his ratings at that time.

Q. How are we doing tags next season with the change to STHS
A - Because there is no set formula to convert ratings, they will need to be processed before ratings, with the exception that if you have a player Who you feel will be going down to a lower rating (like Visnovsky did). And want to Lowe tag them. It will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Let's use Modano as an example because he would seemingly be a guy right on that fence line. Worst case scenario, if you think you have a guy that would be switching tag regions, I'll just grab his stats at year end and plug them into my old FHL calculator and come up with his OV. I don't anticipate many of them, but I do have that backup in place if necessary.
