With the debate raging on whether young players are rushed to the NHL (Turris, Stamkos, Gagner), what do you think the draft age should be and why? [15 vote(s)]
18 years old (Leave it where it is)
73.3%
19 years old (Let kids be kids and develop physically for one more year.)
20.0%
20 or older (Players should be men in the NHL, not kids)
Leave it where it is...if scouts can't tell a top talent by age 18 then they shouldn't be a scout. If GMs are too stupid to realize a player has more value at 3 years and 850 k developed than not developed then they shouldn't be a GM. There are an elite few that help a team win NOW and are worth bringing on the time. aka Crosby, Kane...

i don't think the draft age should be changed, but that if a player is playing less than 10-13 minutes a game as an 18 year old, i think they would be better suited getter bigger minutes and role on a junior team than struggling in the NHL
everything is made for a reason.. keep it the way it is... its a perfect setup scouts know what they are investing in... and that age of 18 in bang on.
