Thrashers outlook heading into the New Year.

With the team out to a terrific start this season at 19-7-4-1 (43 pts) the team is pleased with its first 31 games of the season. With all key area's in the team stats department solid, the team is 6th in PK, PP, Goals for per game and goals against per game the team is happy to be in the top 10 in all these category's.. The teams brass is upset that the team is only 6th in the offensive category's though as they feel, Kovalchuk-Heatley-Hemsky-Savard-Gomez-Cole all need to pick up their production over the remainder of the season.

Individually their have been some bright spots for the Thrashers aswell with the team getting great play out of early season pick-up Pavel Kubina who has 5 goals 7 assists for 12 points in 20 games with the team. Also playing very well is the star rookie goalie Carey Price who is 15-5-3 with 2 shutouts, and a 2.57 GAA and .903 Save%, his hot play so far has generated plenty of Rookie of the Year buzz and also some vezina and hart trophy talk aswell.

Looking towards the remainder of the season, Team Management expects this team to really pick up their scoring down the second half of the season, with the teams toplines carrying them. Expect the team to look to trade for some more vetern help on the 3rd-4th lines defense and offense. With his strong play the Thrashers very early on made the decision to let Carey Price be this teams future and hopefull the teams future is this season..

Looking towards the next couple of years. With high end youngsters allready being on our pro team, (like Mueller, Hemsky, Price) and other top end guys coming through the minors currently, (like Mccarthur, Okposo, Matthias, Deslauriers), some top quality prospects, (Bouwman, Chorney, Obrien, Dadonov, Nash, Simmonds, Palushaj, Hjalmarsson) the team is very very excited about what the future holds for this team, too boot they have the current number 1-2 ov selections, (and 11th) in the Stamkos-Doughty draft..
