It's actually interesting, according to TSN, the canucks will be attempting to turn themselves into a cup contender with another star player (and in the new year will be able to get someone paid 6.5 million due to the pro-rated salary)....
that got me thinking about who they would try and target, I'm assuming that it would be an eastern conference team (and now you have sundin and sedin down the middle you would want someone who could play left wing so he could be moved to find the best fit).... now, I doubt the sens would try and trade either heatley or alfredsson so something tells me that they might be going after kovalchuk...
Demitra was signed for two years, they offered Sundin a 2-year deal and kovalchuk's contract will expire after next season so they might have decided to make a push for two years then re-evaluate the team before going in either the same direction or a different one...
i figure that kovalchuk will not want to sign an extension in atlanta and would want to go elsewhere, but atlanta could get some premier talent if they moved him this year....
i figure the price would be high, possibly moving picks and prospects alongside possibly bieksa (signed for long-term).... though i'm not sure whether the thrashers would be interested in schneider when they have pavelec and lehtonen
vancouver is canada's san fran but welcome to reality ;)
hossa is a homo i dont like him myself.. i think we will make similar pitch at gaborik this offseason and pay him crazy jack and watch him and hemsky become most feared combo outside malkin-crosby..

don't you mean "pay him crazy jack and watch him walk away from the money"?
don't be jealous just because we have players who actually want to sign in vancouver....
